It's just not that interesting a game to me.
Now, I'm usually pretty forgiving when it comes to videogames. I prefer to focus on what a game does well rather than what it doesn't, and there are usually at least one or two things a game does really well.
Skyrim ... what Skyrim does really well is that it's got a very large, very realistic world and you're free to explore it all, and I'm trying to like it for that. I really am. Unfortunately, what it doesn't do well is depth, and I'll take depth over breadth any day.
Consider combat: your moves boil down to attack, power attack, and block. Regardless of whether you use an axe, sword, bow, fireball, dagger, shield ... it's attack, power attack, and block. And to block you either need to be unarmed (on that hand) or equip a shield; you can't even parry. That's not deep at all.
Consider NPCs: they either sell you stuff, follow you around, or give you quests; sometimes combinations of the three. Regardless, they don't really care what you have to say. Your character's replies appear to make no difference whatsoever.
