I should never LJ Drunk

Apr 12, 2009 10:15

...especially when I got drunk at work and I'm half-way through a fortnight of hell.

As I'm unlikely to see anyone this week - recommend a couple of films I should probably have watched by now?

Sorry to hear about the week of social desolation. Have a hug. {hug}

As far as films go, have you ever watched the original The Wicker Man?

Yes, with Christopher Lee in a dress and origional 70s topiary.

Hmmmm. It's hard to come up with films that you should have seen but probably haven't. I'm not feeling particularly inspired so here are a number of obvious ones, maybe you haven't seen them all.
Movies that I have been told are the best film ever: Lost In Translation, Lilo and Stitch, Withnail and I*, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Movies that are held to be classics: Cassablanca, The Shawshank Redemption, Citizen Kane, The Godfather part II*
A few I like: Memento, 2001:A Space Odyssey, Apocalypse Now, Crank
(*I should probably see these myself sometime)
Oh but if you somehow haven't seen Fight Club then that trumps all of the above.

Also thanks for your friendly and supportive comment on my post about not writing things, which I then didn't reply to for a week as per the orginal post. For the record, it's always nice to hear what you have been up to, but I particularly admire your frankness when you're talking about social/emotional matters.

Also also, Yeah Yeah Yeahs new album: Have you heard it? What do you think?

Well, anything to help out a fellow LJer! I never realised that I was all that frank about social/emotional matters, save at the moment due to a mixture of exhaustion and new hormonal pills (the bit men never get warned out when their girlfriend goes on the pill - it makes every day feel like PMS). The thing is, this is my LJ, my little bit of writing space, and whilst my life is hardly a whirlwind of excitement, I can still tell my story how I want to ( ... )

Hmmm, I should probably give it some more chance. Thus far I haven't got over the fact that the rest of the album doesn't sound like 'Zero' crossed with 'Fever to tell'.

Yeah, the Album isn't *bad*, it's just not quiet as raw and origional and...rebellious? As "Fever to tell." I do rather like Zero, though, but the rest seems like indie elevator music to me :(
