Well, anything to help out a fellow LJer! I never realised that I was all that frank about social/emotional matters, save at the moment due to a mixture of exhaustion and new hormonal pills (the bit men never get warned out when their girlfriend goes on the pill - it makes every day feel like PMS). The thing is, this is my LJ, my little bit of writing space, and whilst my life is hardly a whirlwind of excitement, I can still tell my story how I want to.
It takes me forever to write anything too.
I've seen Fight Club, as every good person ought, but still have yet to see "Withnail and I" all the way through, after a few failed attempts after clubbing. I thought "lost in translation" and "Eternal sunshine" both a bit overrated, though I can see the merit in both. Citizen Kane is brilliant, though I have a feeling that the hype does take the edge off its brilliance (you can't be shocked by how modern and forward it is when you've already been told this.)
As for new Yeah yeah yeah's album - a bit too produced for my liking, I rather liked the slightly rough edge to "fever to tell", though I find it less forgettable than "show your bones." I was distinctly underwhelmed first listen, but it's growing on me. Maybe I'll change my mind soon.
Hmmm, I should probably give it some more chance. Thus far I haven't got over the fact that the rest of the album doesn't sound like 'Zero' crossed with 'Fever to tell'.
Yeah, the Album isn't *bad*, it's just not quiet as raw and origional and...rebellious? As "Fever to tell." I do rather like Zero, though, but the rest seems like indie elevator music to me :(
