Brownies (well, mostly)
Well, today I spent working until I went to Brownies. And then I came back and did some more work. As you may have guessed, I have not got much to report. I have, however, got quite a bit of dissertation done. And indeed am better informed about the nineteenth century attitudes towards sex (including incest) with children. Lucky, lucky me.
Brownies was good, but I spent the majority of the evening with a group of seven Brownies, who were all doing SLIGHTLY different things, and all of whom required quite a lot of help and support. Mleh. Also, the walk to and from was less than fun because a) it is very cold and b) it is very foggy. And I thought I was late, so I cut across the playing fields, which are creepy enough in the dark without added fog, only to arrive BEFORE Brown Owl & without my key... Grr...
Lunch today was exciting. My college daughter almost fell off her chair when she realised I had a plate full of food: vegetable THINGS (there is no suitable noun for them), potatoes, baked beans & carrots. My lunch was a bit orange. So I had a counterbalancing (yellow-green) banana. Yes.
I was just bounced, literally, by Jennie-the-Guiding-delegation-to-BYC-Chair, who is also a Newnhamite. She wished to share her excitment about Brownie socks. She got given some at the weekend. And I am very happy for her. Yes...
