This afternoon I took myself down to Lewisham & went to the GP & the pharmacy & the bank & bought Christmas cards for the Brownie Unit & went back to the pharmacy to collect (most of) my prescription before going to meet Pimmy at the station to bop up to Victoria.
CHQ had a tat tree in the window. It was beautiful. And we went in and admired tat (and tried on aprons, best not to ask) and boughted things and then went and had squash in the members' area before taking ourselves back to the station. At Victoria we opted to have something to eat before getting the train back to Lewisham, except then our train took a forever. Bah. Luckily a 273 appeared at the perfect moment (as we got to the busstop) so we whizzed back homewards and had half an hour in which to change & pack & be ready. It was managed. I am impressed. Hugely so...
Brownies ce soir was splendid. The Owlery were seeing the communal mentor & the Brownies were learning all about St Andrew. Little Owl had made a quiz & a wordsearch & flags for colouring & some of them got on to designing tartan. Then there was a story about a Kelpie; read by Barn Owl & with acting by t'other Snowy Owl, Cinnamon Owl, and Spectacled Owl. It was glorious. Spectacled Owl should so go on the stage... And then the other Snowy Owl was teaching Scottish dancing & it was splendid and there was much joy. And we danced as cats & dogs rather than boys & girls. And for the second dance Little Owl and I joined in and it was splendid and also did not break me, which helps.
Before going home there was shortbread & explaining the ideas box & telling them they are all to be specially good next week when I am away & also LETTERS cos the last week we are going adventuring to London *nods* mwahahaha
Coming home I went via Sainsbury's to get the present for the game tomorrow. And also possibly bought a smoothie in a hat. La. These things happen. Am feeling sleepy, but also headachy. Boo to the headache. And also, incidentally, to the rain & wind: am decidedly bedraggled...
