You do realise I'm going to be awfully disappointed when we don't go upside down, don't you?

Today has been a bit rubbish, weather-wise. Rosie and I sensibly ignored the weather by being asleep for most of the morning. Yes. That showed it.

There was much postal excitement when we made it downstairs because my nice postman had left my parcels in a waterproof bag in a hidden place and left me a note, so I didn't have to go to the sorting office. He is awfully splendid. The post was also rather exciting because it was my British Gas green homes kit-thingy; and (even better) the Brownie Pack's new certificate from the Children's Marathon Challenge people. In total my Brownies raised £616, which has been divided equally between the Unit & Children With Leukaemia. I am very proud of them & also rather excited generally, because obviously this is a very welcome boost to Unit funds. And they are just rather splendid, really. *bounces*

Breakfast was peanut butter & raspberry jam on toast, which is vair scrummy, with smoothie to drink. And we watched children's television & generally had a very civilised & relaxed morning, with much chatting, as is the norm, really. The afternoon was spent in the epic journey across South London (we need trek ponies I tell you) to go and see la Nell, and give her the hedgehog card. I was in charge of ideas & being the creative consultant: hedgehogs and Rosie actually made it. It was very very splendid. And the discussion in MSN about it was almost as special as the actual card. There were pictures and everything...

Having bounced (quite literally) along to Ealingish on the tube, Rosie and I spent a few hours in the pub, which was jolly nice, if awfully warm. And there were some quite scary maddish people in there. Not like us at all, actually, seriously, just - well, loud & a bit intimidating & somewhat brash... But Rosie got slightly high on coffee cake and there was playing with paper planes & fortune-teller thingies and general amusing-of-selves-quite-innocently.

We went home a rather funny way so as to meet Rosy-Jess & give her lanyard stuff (camp huzzah) and when we got in it was clearly teatime so we made veggieburgers (very scrummy) and had them with waffles and carrots. And without setting fire to anything at any point, even if we did have to open the back door to let the smoke out... After tea we watched Five Children and It which is a bit odd, but okay if you just pretend it is nothing at all to do with Edith Nesbit in any way. Rosie did the turks' head for my lanyard for me, which was awfully splendid, because the pink thread is evil & unravels lots & there had been an awful lot of woe over it. My plan is to try and have my lanyard ready for camp, but this may not work. All depends on my hands playing nicely... Then there was pudding (raspberries & vanilla swedish glace & meringue) while watching Would I Lie To You? which was quite funny if a bit strange.

Oh, and two bits of splendour I forgot yesterday:
1) one of my Guides asked Rosie and me if we're at the same school
2) small Guide 1 (to Rosie): you look like my French teacher
small Guide 2: what - Mr Armstrong?!

For various reasons, Rosie and I very much wish to see To Be Or Not To Be because it looks hilarious. Don't suppose anyone chances to have a copy just lying about...?

shiny people, post, huzzah, films, brownies, sleepy
