The frog liberation society...

We had 5 Guides last night. We have a company of 33. I suspect this has something to do with lots of them still being away, it still being (just) the summer holidays. Actually, lots of them have had their summer holidays extended by at least & week & quite possibly more: St Ursula's is apparently asbestos-riddled & having-to-do-something-about-it.

As I was not needed for crowd-control I spent most of the evening extracting things from the craft box for next week's meeting & then sorting through the second-hand uniform to work out what we have. A nice neat list will be typed up at some point this week to go into the box...

The Guides were quite nicely employed making & racing origami frogs; playing charades; playing it; and talking about a) the summer and b) the plans for celebrating the Unit's 25th anniversary. R named her frog Fred. Actually, she called it Freed. But never mind. She also gave it to the priest, who stopped in to say hello. He took this quite well. The priest, I mean. I am not sure of Freed's views on the matter. He's quite keen for me to start altar serving again asap. Again, the priest, not the frog. In fact he suggested my crutches would ensure the junior servers behaved themselves...
