Watching the sunlight fade...

Rehearsal last night was good. Admittedly, I am perched on the edge of some raised seating, almost on the feet of the alto behind me, but you can't have everything. The echo in Kings is doing some lovely things to the Verdi, and I do love singing in there... It is nice during an evening rehearsal to watch the light fade through the stained glass at the end of the chapel - it is incredibly serene & tranquil. Well, until a bass drum entry, obviously...

We finished at quarter past ten instead of half past, so we were only rehearsing for two and a half hours (we started at half seven but did get a 15 minute break at one point) and I met Jennie on my way back through town as she had been to see a friend at Pembroke. So we went and watched Ice Age and ate chocolates & biscuits in her room. And had squash. What more could you want in an evening really?

Concert is tomorrow, and we have another rehearsal in the morning. It's a bit funny to think I won't be singing with CUMS any more after this. There was a sheet being passed round at rehearsal last night about whether or not we'd be singing next year & people were asking why I wouldn't be and looking quite sad about it, which is, you know, nice... I'm really going to miss it. A lot. We have the garden party on Sunday afternoon (I have my May Ball on Saturday night, so I am not sure how much of the garden party I'll make it to) but then that is it... another goodbye...

shiny people, singing, newnham
