Rainbows last night was rather splendid. Jennie and Jo (who will be starting a new Rainbow Unit in October) came to see the meeting. We heard about what Olivia & Gumnut had done during the week, and then listened to the story of the gingerbread man. After that we played a version of "duck, duck, goose" using characters from the story, and then (after we had washed our hands...) we (1) decorated the gingerbread people Heather had made the night before and (2) rolled out & cut out exciting-shaped gingerbread which was then baked so the Rainbows could take it home at the end of the meeting...
After Rainbows we went up to the District BBQ at Sarah's house on the Huntingdon Road. I ate a really rather impressive amount, avoided being drawn in to playing croquet, and was bidden a fond farewell by the District. Our DC had got me a very-nice-bar-of-chocolate-I-cannot-eat which I am going to share out amongst the Rainbows. Alex, who helps with the 1st Cambridge Brownies had just been to get her results & she has received a First, which is vair shiny-fabbitty-bon. *nods*
Post-BBQ Jennie and I walked back to College (it is a fairly hefty hike as well) and I attempted not to be all maudlin about the fact I am leaving. Alas & indeed woe.
Oooh, and yesterday afternoon I watched "Beauty and the Beast" on DVD. It was very exciting. Mwahaha...
