Rainbows this evening was particularly fine. Oh, to dance with all the inhibitions of a five year old. Or perhaps not. Ours needed some encouraging to skip about manically and spread out. Obviously I helped there. In a noble way. Because clearly leaping in a loon-like fashion is not something I would ever do. (Clearly I needed only a tambourine to make my joy complete...)
We were playing the "who's missing?" game, which meant when the music stopped, everyone had to curl up on the floor with their eyes closed. Dragonfly then covered someone up with a sheet, and the rest of the Unit could sit up and guess who was gone. *giggles* sadly, when Dragonfly covered Nénuphar up, a rather perplexed small person announced "it's a big lump" and another suggested perhaps it was two people under the sheet. Nénuphar was then patted quite thoroughly, and indeed stroked. Because the Rainbows are rather cute, really. If a bit mad...
We made Rainbow smoothies after talking about the colours of the rainbow, and eating a rainbow of fruit & veg... All of the Rainbows at least tried the smoothies, although there were several "I don't like it"s - all of them were quite worried-sounding and polite, though. (Again, the Rainbows are cute. Yes, yes they are.)
All the Rainbows made their Promise this evening, and the various adults were in charge of pinning on badges. No one pinned any of the Rainbows either. And Otter even managed not to pin through onto R's vest...
At home time there were rainbow-coloured cakes (as made by Badger) and one of the Rainbows had made all of the others mini-rainbows (just the colours of the Rainbow logo) out of Hama beads.
A particularly fine evening. Yes indeed...
