Unlike the opening of the Wayfaring Mare, there are few external decorations for this particular party. The hostesses doubt, given the temperature and cooperation of the weather to participate with the colour scheme, anyone will want to spend much time outside. Another difference is that the doors to the upstairs have been pulled shut and locked, though any of the residents have keys to go back and forth to their rooms. Now that there are several full time residents, Morgana and Gwen do not want any curious party-goers accidentally intruding. Beyond that, guests may go almost wherever they please.
If anyone is willing to brave the cold and the snow, the Morgana's escort has nicely provided a pair of horses, and the hostesses have hired a driver, should anyone wish a trip around the Mare's and stables' lands in a sleigh.
The linens are all white, gold, and red. It is the Pendragon red with which they grew up, and Morgana is far enough removed from that life to enjoy the small reminder of her history. There are small candles in each of the windows, that all the guests would see in the darkened currently unoccupied rooms as they arrive. It's a small way to push back against the longest night of the year. In the dining room, on the opposite wall of the buffet of food, is a table for anyone who has brought a present. Right now, there are several small boxes, placed there by the hostess. While Morgana finds the idea of Father Christmas rather creepy ( a man comes into one's house in the middle of the night and looks for stockings?) she does enjoy providing small tokens for those close to her.
There is mistletoe, but not over the doorways, except for the one heading into the sitting room. It didn't exactly mean the same thing in her time as it does now, so forgive her. She may not wish to be enlightened on the more familiar traditions either.
As a gift for the end of the year, most of her regular employees, save Miss Singh, who has been left in charge of the temporary staff, have been relieved of their duties to enjoy the party. (Though, in truth, Morgana suspects it will be Gwen who has the most difficulty with the concept of a night off.)
The Mare is open and hospitality will be extended to all those who walk through its doors.
[OOC: It's a party people, have at it! This post will be open forever.]
