A/N: Hum, I need to come up with better summaries. xD So, I was visting a graveyard yesterday, and my sister had come up with this strange plot, and she let me use it. :D This is just the prologue, so there's more to come later~

Things were taking a turn for the worse that day.

They were just going out for dinner that night, no harm in that, right? The skies were a dim shade of gray, forecasting that rain was soon approaching, but that didn't stop Kyuhyun from deciding that walking was a perfect choice of transportation.

Hand in hand, Kyuhyun walked with his lover, Sungmin. They've been dating for several months, and Kyuhyun was sure nothing could keep him any happier than Sungmin. He was sure that he had made the right choice, so before they had departed; he snuck a small box in his back pocket - containing a ring.

However, soon enough, it had slowly begun raining.

"Ack, it's starting to rain Kyu. God, and you didn't even bring an umbrella." Sungmin teased, playfully hitting Kyuhyun on the head. The latter just chuckled, taking a spare jacket and dumping it on Sungmin's head.

"Sorry, I didn't even know it was going to rain. Let's try getting to the restaurant fast, and we'll call a taxi home, okay?" Sungmin nodded eagerly, and they began walking a tad faster.

The rain had gotten worse, falling onto the ground with more force. The couple had reached the street where the restaurant was, cars rushing about to get home. When the street had cleared, they dashed across; splashing through puddles and wetting their clothes.

A screech of tires, a sickening crack, and a scream. That was all Kyuhyun remembered as he felt Sungmin's grasp loosened from his. Eyes widened as he watched the car crash into his beloved, Sungmin falling to the damp ground. Blood pooled beneath him, steadily mixing with the rain. As the driver exited from his car, sputtering unheard apologies and already making a call for an ambulance, Kyuhyun dropped to his knees; just...staring.

"Oh God...no, no, no...oh my god, Sungmin, NO!" He sobbed as his fingers brushed Sungmin's cool face. The sirens of the ambulance were faint in his ears, and his vision was blurred as he watched several men bring Sungmin into the back, soon hopping along. Everything was blank; just barely picking up the events of several doctors rushing Sungmin into the emergency room, and him pacing about. Each second he wasn't there with him was nerve-racking.

Kyuhyun kept telling himself he was such a horrible boyfriend. To have decide to walk that evening, to have decide to even cross that street at that moment, to have decide...

His hand ghosted over his back pocket, and his teeth clenched with sudden anger at himself. He blamed himself for everything; everything that Sungmin had gone through was because of him. For that, he was going to scold himself when both Sungmin and him were going back home.

There was just no way that Sungmin was going to give up, there was no way that Sungmin was going to die. Kyuhyun knew better, otherwise life isn't just as real if he really does...let go. It was unimaginable, Kyuhyun thought. To really think that Sungmin would actually die right then and there -

The red light that hovered over the Emergency Room had flickered off, signaling that the surgery was over. A doctor slowly exited from the said room, blood staining his cloak, his face washed with exhaustion. Kyuhyun perked up, wanting to hear the news of his boyfriend. He's not dead, he's not dead, there's no way he's dead.

"Cho Kyuhyun, right?" Kyuhyun nodded, "We tried our best to save him, but...it was too late. We're sorry." Luck was not in favor of Kyuhyun.

His face drained of all hope he once had (which was not too long ago), and blankly watched several nurses push the bed; Sungmin lying on it with his body covered with a blanket, his face sticking out. It appeared he was asleep, and truthfully Kyuhyun wished that's what he was, but the blood on the blanket said otherwise. They gave him space, going off to the sides, and Kyuhyun slowly - oh so slowly - walked towards Sungmin.

Tears rained onto Sungmin's face that held a calm expression, and Kyuhyun sobbed pitifully; face buried within Sungmin's neck. His hands fisted the blanket, several emotions waving over him, and he seriously didn't know what to do than cry pathetically like he was doing now.

Strangely, Kyuhyun couldn't really remember the events of him thrashing about the hospital: over turning tables, hurling pots of plants against the wall, kicking countless walls of patients who were trying to sleep, and yelling at the top of his lungs, tears running down his flushed cheeks. It was a sorrowful sight, and most would've understood his situation, but some thought he was someone from the mentally insane department. It took a couple of security guards, and doctors themselves to restrain Kyuhyun, but eventually they had him knocked out.

And when he had awoken, Sungmin was gone. Later, Kyuhyun was informed about his funeral, and attended.

Watching the burying of Sungmin...was too painful, and each centimeter the box had gone into the hole, it felt as though pieces of Kyuhyun's heart were being thrown into the same hole. Maybe his heart will join Sungmin's funeral as well.

Flowers were being thrown into the hole as men threw dirt into the hole, and what Kyuhyun threw was no flower.

It was the ring he was to propose with.
