my society has decided to be VERY nice and donate money to japan! :D but as it's 'my' society, we've decided to do it with a twist. we're going to do it turkey reading style!

(for those who can't be bothered to click, you basically find someone to read out some very bad fanfic/book and the audience bid money (for charity) on whether the reader ( Read more... )

i don't know where to start in ff.net XDDD *has a lot of good memories with it*

Just go to fanfiction.net :P

Aww, beat me to it. ;)

And x_regg, first page of any major fandom's page on there will be about 70% utter dross.

Anything by Peter Chimaera, and of course, My Immortal.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/SoBadItsGood/FanFic has a ton.

My society will do a similar thing, I'm going to organise a fundraising thing (was thinking of an origami workshop, and possibly a collab with the Tea Society to serve Japanese tea or sommething) in the last week of May.

But this! This sounds awesome! I should do this with the Creative Writing society XD

we were going to do a fundraising event, but it needed a lot more paperwork than what you would think (and we thought it wasn't feasible to do it in exam season, which was the only time we could do it) so we gave up *is giving money out of the society account*

haha you should! i heard about it from a friend who went to picocon (an annual sci-fi event at imperial) and i've been wanting to do it for ages!

There's a festival (we call it "Re-Fresher's Week") right after exams so I'm doing it for then XD Should be able to get it sorted by that time... hopefully.

It sounds like an epic thing to do. I'll pitch it to the CW society and see what people think, I believe we may have a winner here ;D
