going to another country, regardless of whether you want to or not - you learn alot.
i've only been here for a week, yet i feel as if everything i've learned about other cultures, especially the arab culture, is totally bullshit. it is a tactic of the media to dehumanize the "enemy" and make the entire country hate them. people just don't understand. i wish they could. my girlfriend doesn't understand. oh well. as long as i know, it puts me at ease a little, and even if it's a little bit it matters.
