If you use, can I see your results?

Crop and resize your pic to 100 x 100. This is a promotional picture of David Hobson and Anthony Warlow for Pirates of Penzance, scanned from the Limelight magazine. Now because I've been an utter git I didn't record the layers I did on the original pic in order to hide the image and writing on the other side of the pic. So we'll just have to start with the murged result ((if you take it PLEASE CREDIT ME because I spent a long time getting it to that point. If you take it and claim it as your own I WILL find out. I do have the original pic saved so I'll try and develop another tut for that)).

New layer, fill with #400000, set to Soft Light 100% =

Duplicate base, bring to top, set to Luminance (L) 64% =

Duplicate base, bring to top, set to Overlay 56% =

Here's what your layers table should look like:

Of course if you want them well tanned you can always stop there ((first ending option)). However to get the other pink skin effect:

Merge all layers. Very important. Murge!!! :D

Go to: Adjust < Colour Balance < Grey World Colour Balance and set the Temperature on 5690

If you want:

Duplicate the current image, set to to Overlay around 18 - 36% =
((hey subtle difference helping to hide the reverse side))
And/or add effects to any of them. Overall, here are my MMFM endings:

Hope you like!
