Delicious Delights!!

Two days ago, Azu, Alondra, and I, went down to Bakers where we spent some time looking at items for the bookmarks which Azu is designing.  While we were down at Michael's we ran into tons of possibilities for future designs and for a couple of things which I have plans on doing for me.  It was alright.  We made some progress nothing to major but ( Read more... )

I just recieved your package today. O_O those colors are bright! My friends azuuchan and saeko_yayoi were both saying, "Dang, Gabbie, this is bright; you're going to be burning up during AX." They're right, this material is going to make us both hot but it'll be worth it.

They are looking forward to the costume mainly because I don't normally wear colors that are bright, at all, so you can imagine how giddy they are in seeing me in something so bright.

Hey, I have a question, are you planning on learning the Tan Tan Taan for AX or is it just something you're doing for fun? Just curious. Anyways, if the picture that you sent me is the actual costume that you are planning for AX, let me know so that I can talk to my seamstress.

Speaking about seamstress, if you continue having problems with the guy that is doing your costume, let me know. I've spoken with my seamstress and she says that if you can make her trip worth-while, she will consider going to where you live and take measurements, and talk to you about your costume(s). She would like for you to have someone else who wants a costume made so that she has more reason to go down there, but if you are up for it, she'll seriously consider going there to meet up with you. Heck, I'm willing to drive her down there myself so that you get the costume you want made just for you but without so many hassles.

Let me know what you think.

Yes, when I took pictures around the house, I got REALLY hot. But hopefully they'll have the air conditioning on in the convention center.

The outfit isn't really my "style" either, which is why I think I like it so much. Cosplay feels so much more special when I wear something that I would normally never wear IRL.

The Tan Tan Taan! dance is just for fun because I started making dance videos on YouTube. If you want to learn it too, that'd be cool though! But please try to learn the lyrics to the song cuz I wanna sing it at open mic karaoke! I can cover Kusumi & Kikkawa's parts (that way we'll alternate), so you just have to memorize Kitahara's lines.

The guy offered to re-make the jacket, but he's going to charge for his time. It kind of upsets me that he couldn't get it right the first two times (I even sent him side-by-side comparison photos after he messed up the first time!) and now I have to pay for his mistakes...But he's not charging very much, so we'll see how it comes out.

Personally, I don't believe that you should have to pay for his mistakes. He should have been paying better attention to what he was doing and how he was supposed to make the costume in the first place. But whatever makes you happy, and as long as your costume gets made. But seriously, for your next costume, please consider speaking with my seamstress. She is great at what she does and she really never messes up. My friends azuuchan and saeko_yayoi can also vouch for her.

About the Tan Tan Taan! dance. I can make it a point to learn it and the lyrics but I'm going to be honest with you. I get serious stage-fright. It may not seem like I'm a shy person but I am. I can barely sing in front of my family much less in front of a large crowd, but I'll try my best to memorize the steps and the lyrics. I'll let you know on my status.

XD they better have the A/C on in the convention center or they are going to have some over-heated cos-players.

Well, I have to get back to work.

I'll talk to you later.

Take care and ciao for now.

Right? I sent him a million pictures and I even made side-by-side references to the length of my jacket versus Koharu's. But he said that because I didn't specifically say in my e-mail that "the front is screwed up!" (I just said "the jacket needs to be longer by x inches") when I asked him to remake it the first time, that it's my fault. It irritates me, but he has extra fabric, so it seems better to go that route instead of trying to buy matching materials all over again PLUS pay someone to remake it. Needless to say, I'll NEVER go to him again.

Next cosplay I do, I will definitely consider your seamstress! Maybe I can take a summer vacation to San Francisco and then stop by to meet your seamstress.

I'm really shy too, but I think working at Disneyland helped me come out of my shell a bit. I'm by no means a good dancer and I sing like crap, but it's just something fun to do! I remember singing karaoke so badly, but I made it entertaining, so people ignored the fact that I probably sounded like a dying animal. XD!!! And since I'll cover two of the girls' lines, you won't have to sing too much. If it helps, we can sing to the normal song instead of the karaoke version.

I had a really heavy costume on last year and I don't remember being too agonizingly hot. So, if it's the same as last year, we should be fine! Otherwise we can just get guys to walk with us and fan us everywhere we go! LOL!

Hey that sounds like a great idea. For my Mama-san costume for Bride of the Water God, my friend played my attendent and she took care of me... XD that was fun.

Ok, you talked me into learning the lyrics and the dance but I'm warning you, I'll be red in the face just thinking about singing and dancing in front of a crowd. Freaken tomatoes are going to riot over me being redder than them (lol).

And seriously, my seamstress is awesome. She's been able to do all of the costumes which we've picked no matter how technically difficult they have been. And she makes sure that it's just how you want it. She likes to work with a present model so she can see and ask her client how it feels, looks, or if they want alterations to it. But normally, she's able to get them done with one to two fittings. She's that good. Roxy, she's from Burbank, has driven up to Bakersfield to have her costumes done, and they came out great. Lynn, one of Azuu's friend did the same thing and she also loved her costume. And as I stated earlier, if you can make the trip worth it for Lourdes (my seamstress), she'll drive down there to meet up with you and discuss any costumes you plan on making. Heck, I'll drive her down myself if need be. Basically, you shouldn't have to be hassling with the person doing your costumes.
