Last Bouquet

+++++ +++++
The long and everlasting period finally came to a halt, the school bell ringing signaling a lunch break. Graders were separating, and re-uniting from all-parts and corners in the building, and Ruki made sure to get out quick enough to avoid the others---more importantly to find Uruha and his friends. That task wasn't necessary the easiest, and it appeared by every growing second the hallways seemed to be impenetrable. Squeezing by other students, Ruki clutched tightly onto his books and binders, barely avoided and ducking body parts that accidentally came swinging at him.

"Dammit! Get the hell out of my freakin' way!"

A familiar voice caught Ruki's attention, and instantly the crowd that stood before him quickly dispersed revealing the oh-so popular blond, along with his friends. Automatically the students stayed out of range, all beginning to start whispering and envy how beautiful and well known the group is. The only one who didn't budge. was Ruki who started at Uruha, in most obvious way possible. The blond swung his hair back, gakuran jacket hooked on his index finger, which casually rested on his shoulder. "Thank you!" He stated sarcastically.

His gaze finally met Ruki's, a bit of an awkward silence thickening in the air. Ruki's grip on his school belongings tighten, mentally wondering if the staring blond remembered him. A few moments passed, and in an instant a large toothy smile spread upon his face, his free hand signaling  the others to keep up.

"Hey Matsumoto!" Uruha energetically hollered.

After hearing his recognition, Ruki greeted back, a small sigh released just right before. "Hey Uru!"

"Funny running into you here!" The gang and I have been looking for you: you know the guys." Turning his back slightly angled towards the others, all waved with friendly smiles on their faces. "And of course, you know Aoi." Moving his body completely over to the side, revealing a silent raved haired teen whose eyes paid attention to anything, other than Ruki. He could see all the tension that was slowly building up in Aoi's arms, which crossed over his chest to hide that fact.

"Hey Aoi." Ruki greeted with a genuinely on-good-terms voice. The greet cased him to turn only his head--body remaining in the same position--dark and hostile eyes studied Ruki's face than body. "tch." Releasing a scoft, Aoi's head instantly snapped away, Uruha chuckling as he laid one hand on his close friend. Ruki's previous emotion collapsed, as he could sense the unreasonable anger Aoi directed towards him.

"Matsumoto, you'll have to excuse Aoi: he's on his period again."

"Dame(Bad)!" Forcefully pulling away from Uruha's grip, Aoi swore under breath, eyes still studying Ruki--who couldn't help but chuckle about Uruha's remark to Aoi's rude behavior.

"Anyways Matsumoto, we're on our way to lunch: wanna come along?"
Opening his mouth to answer, Ruki's eyes caught a hold of another familiar group, that stood in the far back watching it all. Ruki knew that emotion from anywhere, the sadden look in Keji's eyes--the way his brows lowered, and lips parted slightly as he prepared to object silently.

The emotion was remorse.

"Hello?~Matsumoto, do you wanna come?"

Keji's eyes still focused on Ruki, the group anticipating for Ruki's response. Snapping out of his trance, Ruki smiled brightly which he knew that caused Aoi to cringe, and then answered confidently. "Sure Uruha-san: lets get going."
+++++ ++++++
The timid brunette didn't know what to expect at this point, and after walking for what seemed like ten minutes, Ruki was utterly confused: the cafeteria was only a five minute walk. from where him, Uruha and his friends were. Why on Earth were they still walking? Moments after stepping into unfamiliar territory, it seemed found what he was looking for. Hushing the others, Uruha signaled everyone to walk up a flight of stars nearby, as quiet as possible.

Uruha being the first person in the line, pressed his ear up against the locked door, which prevented any further entry.

"Gee, great idea Uruha! Now what?" One girl asked in frustration.

"Shh!" He retaliated, bringing his index finger to his lips. Pressing his ear against the locked door again, his hands into his pockets then proceeding to pull out a key. Inserting it into the slot, Uruha turned the knob and pushed the door in, revealing a large empty roof-top. On cue, the others 'whoa'ed in amazement, Ruki stood baffled and speechless. The blond redirected everyone's attention to an area, that was appropriate for sitting at.

"So, what do you think?"

Various comments were stated, but all revolved around 'amazing'. The group proceeded to sit on the pavement, some peering over head to see other students walking about. Ruki's eyes catching a hold of other buildings, that surrounded the school. He never seen such a clear view of the school overhead, or anything close to it. Curiosity struck him as he wondered how Uruha, managed to get such a private view like this one.

"Uruha, how did you get this just for us?"

"Well, when you make some empty promises to both guys and girls: they repay you with something extraordinary. Learn this Matsumoto, if you use your good looks wisely: you'll be able to get whatever you want." Sitting down himself, the blond stretched, sprawling his legs freely as he reached for his lunch, which was neatly wrapped. "I thought it would be nice to get a nice place like this, before the Christmas break; and whaddayah know, I got it!" Chuckling in accomplishment, Uruha ripped through the wrapping revealing a bento box.

"Nice lunch Uruha." Aoi added, pulling out his plain bologna sandwich. "Another girl made it for you?"

"Try a dude!"

Stopping midway to bite his sandwich, Aoi's eyes snapped and met Uruha's, eyes narrowing. "Oh god, I didn't know faggots roamed this school."

The oblivious older teen received a snort, Uruha rolling his eyes in disbelief to Aoi's lack of knowledge. "Yeah, a lot actually. A shitload of them are still in the closet though." He informed as he pulled his wooden chopsticks apart, then took the cover off his bento box. "Quite disgusting actually, the queer actually thinks he has a shot with me."

"Are you freakin'  kidding me? That's gross.
Ruki reached and unwrapped his lunch, pulling out his chopsticks and napkins slowly as he tuned into their conversation. The others ate, carrying their own small talk, Ruki watching all while eating rice and fish quietly. Realizing both Uruha's and Aoi's strong hate being homosexuals, he felt more like a black sheep than usual. He personally didn't have anything against gay people, nor did he feel right to tease or bully someone, because they're different. However, it didn't seem all like a big problem.

It wasn't as if he would have to hurt someone, because of their preference, for any particular reason. Uruha, Aoi and the others could partake in things like that, but Ruki would hopefully avoid that. After all, it wasn't as if there would be a situation, that called for unnecessary cruelty.

I mean, he was sure of it: what were the chances anyways?

A large and unhidden belch escaped from Uruha's mouth, signaling that he finished the meal and it was enjoyable. "Damn that was good." Was all Uruha could comment about the food, before lazily wiping leftovers off of his lips. "Y'know Aoi, if faggots should have a reason to be alive: it should be to cook for us." Shortly after, the two along with the rest of the group broke into laughter, Ruki ignoring the comment, and started to violently shove food into his mouth.

Both Uruha and Aoi turned their head in Ruki's direction, expecting him to be laughing as well. Instead they found him stuffing his face, Uruha snickered gently patting him for his attention. "Slow down bro! Me and you still have things to discuss." Pulling his lunch box away from him. Ruki finished chewing and swallowed. "uh sure, what's up?"

"So everyone including myself have been thinking, and we would really love it if you started chilling with us."

"R-Really?"

"Yeah!! I mean your good-looking, sociable--everything you need, in order to hang out with us. Honestly, it's about time we got you away, from those losers and Keji. So what do you say? You ready to roll with the big boys?"
A smile engulfed his face, eyes lighting up to the words Ruki waited for. With a quick nod, the whole group--with the exception of Aoi--cheered, Uruha appearing the most happy. "Awesome, now starting the day we return for the break: you are official one of us! Now down to more important business--"

Uruha slender finger caught a hold of some of the brunette's hair, familiarizing himself with the texture. "We got to do something about this hair color. This brunette isn't going to do you justice."

"You wanna dye my hair?"

"Of course! We've got to give you, a bold and noticeable color. Maybe something like jet-black--or you could go blond like myself."

"I think I'll try the blond." Ruki replied sheepishly, which resulted to Uruha laughing to his nervousness on the outcome--Aoi snorting in disbelief. "Of course you would, you pouser."

Shooting the blunt raven haired teen a glare, Uruha's finger released his grip on the silky texture. Y'know Aoi, periods are only suppose to last about a week, not three."
Muttering back a swear, Aoi waved him off and went back to finishing his lunch, and remaining quiet.

"ANYWAYS, so blond it is?"

"Yeah, I wanna do something daring like that. Would your really want to dye it though?"

"It would be my pleasure! We should take you to a salon after-wards; get some layers here and there, bangs and all: trust me, you'll look insanely attractive. You got the face, you just need to preserve it."

"Wow Uruha, you sure do know about being stylish." Comment Ruki in a timid voice, afraid his lack in knowledge about appearance, would disapproval throughout the group.

"What can I say? It's a gift~"

"B-But I don't think the school, would allow that on me."

"Look, all you really gotta do. is bull-shit a reason for your 'rebellion'. If you make same sob stories for the senseis: believe me, they'll leave you be. Or you could use those good looks of yours to your advantage."

"Me having good looks? That's not right...I'm not attractive."

"You so are!" Blurted the same girl from earlier. Amazement struck him in how blunt the other grader was. Considering the fact that Ruki had low confidence, hearing from in attractive and popular girl, was definitely a first of him. "Y-You really think so?"

Batting her long eye-lashes, she nodded humming 'mhm'.

"Great great! Now we can celebrate about multiple things: our Christmas break, Matsumoto's new found confidence, and the new edition to our group!" Rooted Uruha with much enthusiasm, and as expected the group hollered in joy, all throwing their fist up--Aoi remaining dead silent.

"'S a pretty good thing I brought cake, eh?" Another member asked rhetorically, pulling out a neatly boxed pastry . The others began clapping, all huddling around the other grader, guys patting him on the head, the girls rewarding him with a cheek kiss. After huddling around him, plastic plates were passed around person-to-person, Uruha cutting up equal pieces for each. Giving each to everyone, Aoi received one, his mood lightening. "Is it made with love?"

"I have no clue: I got it from bakery." The guy from earlier replied, shrugging and honestly caring less. "Goddamn: I didn't bring enough forks"

"I'll get some" Volunteered Ruki, as he set his plate to the side, preparing to stand up.

"You sure Matsumoto?"

"Yeah. it's not problem. Might as well get some exercise, before I fill up."

"Oh okay, don't take long." The blond reminded, Ruki nodding for an answer. Within seconds, Ruki was already gone, the sound of his footsteps descending. As the others dug into their slice, Uruha started to wrap up the left-overs, which surprisingly were a lot--until a voice interrupted him. "Seriously Uruha?"

Rolling his eyes in aggravation, Uruha sighed sharply, responding in a flat tone. "What Aoi, you want the rest?"

"Ahaha no. I mean, are you seriously letting him hang with us from now on?"

"Look Aoi, calm the hell down okay? Yeah I said that, but that doesn't automatically guarantee something alright? Besides, he has got to really prove to us, that he wants in."

"And if not?"

"'And if not'--C'mon Aoi!" Forcefully hitting the plate out of his hands, Aoi shifted into resentment from both that action, and Uruha's sarcasm. "Are you fucking kidding me Uru?"

"Why would I? You were pissing me off, and to answer that stupid ass question of 'if not'--we'll just tell his ass to leave. Honestly Aoi, do you not know me?"

In the middle of scrapping off bad cake from the pavement, hostile eyes met Uruha's unamused ones. Dropping the napkin and fork onto the tainted treat, Aoi shoved the plate away while grumbling in defeat. "Actually, I know you real well: which is why I'm asking. You never let guys like Ruki in, in the first place: so why now?"

"God Aoi, can't you just believe in what I'm doing? So what if there isn't a reason or a purpose?"

"Jesus Christ Uruha, I guess it doesn't matter. I just have a bad feeling about this."

"And I have a bad feeling you're going to stay pissy for awhile. Now shut up, and hand me your cake."

"Nani, this dirty thing?" Eyes glancing over to the pile of rubbish, Uruha nodded which gave him appalling looks from Aoi.

"Hai, what else could I be referring to? It's a waste to throw food away like that." Reaching over to grab the almost discarded plate, Uruha took both the napkin and Aoi's fork off of the cake, and began to dig in. Astonishment quickly dissolved as Aoi watched Uruha, eat the bad cake in utter disbelief. "Damn Uruha, that's pretty disgusting."

"That's not what your mom said last night." The hungry blond retaliated with a full mouth, waving his fork around.

The older teen breathed in heavily, frustration still gnawing at him mentally. "Wow Uruha--real mature."

A/N: Second part of the prologue is now...COMPLETED! One more to go, not sure how long this one will be~Considering the fact that I'm still writing it (u_u)a But it WILL be the longest part. It should be soon completed & typed up, b/c I have an upcoming break from school. After this prologue, the story will actually start to take place in present time in an alternate universe--or reality if you must. This whole beginning is just informing you, on what exactly this story plot is based off of. Oh yes; another generic unrequited love story of "I love ____, but ____ doesn't love me back. But I'll keep on loving ____, no matter if the feelings never return. But oh! ____ seems to be falling for me too, and ____ & I live happily ever after." .... Or is it? -suspenseful music- Despite whatever it is, story progression is expected, so this series might run lengthy in-general. Once again, comments are HEAVILY appreciated! :3 & I'll give you a biiiig cookie~<3
