Summary: Junhyung is a beginning social worker, his first client is a seventeen year old boy named Hyunseung. Junhyung has the urge to help him at any cost. But what happens when lines are crossed and boundaries fade? And how far is Junhyung willing to go to save the boy?

Everything was chaotic. There were people all around them, surrounding them. Paramedics rushed to G-Dragon’s side as well.

He yelled at them to first look after Junhyung, which Hyunseung couldn’t agree more too.

People were asking Hyunseung to take some distance, to leave Junhyung’s side. But Hyunseung didn’t want to do either of these things.

“Excuse me, but we have to take him to the hospital. We need you to move out off the way.”

Hyunseung nodded as he slowly stood up, his legs were barely able to hold his shaking body. He stared in a daze at Junhyung, who now had an oxygen mask on.

Hyunseung was worried sick, couldn’t he breath on his own anymore? Was he going to make it? All these kind of questions kept running through his head, but there was no one he could ask them too.

Junhyung had his eyes closed, but now and then his eyelashes fluttered which meant he was still struggling to stay awake.

The stain of blood just seemed like it got bigger every time Hyunseung blinked, but he knew that was just imagination. At least, he hoped it was.

There were so many people around Junhyung, he could barely see him anymore. He saw their mouths talking, but it was like he couldn’t hear what they were saying.

He only heard his own unsteady breathing. Just when he felt like he would collapse for real this time, a pair of arms took hold off him, supporting him.

He turned his head at G-Dragon, most blood was cleaned of his face, which made him look a lot better. G-Dragon said nothing, he just held on to the trembling boy, holding him close, trying to create a safe feeling so he wouldn’t have to focus on everything around him.

Once Junhyung was stable which meant they had managed to stop the wound from bleeding, they lifted him onto the bran card.

One of the paramedics turned to Hyunseung and G-Dragon. “One of you can ride with him.”

G-Dragon smiled at Hyunseung . “Go on, I’ll be there soon.” He said.

Hyunseung nodded and stepped forward.

Once Junhyung was inside, the paramedic reached out. “Hop in kid, we have to go.” He said.

Hyunseung took his hand and took place next to Junhyung. He took hold of Junhyung’s hand and squeezed it tightly. When he felt Junhyung’s hand squeezing back faintly, he smiled over the upcoming tears.

He knew Junhyung would keep his promise, he wouldn’t leave him. the ride to the hospital seemed like the longest one of Hyunseung ‘s life.
There were moments that Hyunseung wanted to cry, there were moments he felt like he would break down and there were moments where he wished it was him laying there instead of Junhyung.

But it wasn’t him, he was sitting next to Junhyung. And he didn’t break down, he tried not too because he had to be strong for the both of them now. The siren’s sound was loud, Hyunseung kept hoping for it to stop, because when it stopped it meant that they had arrived.

Junhyung was grasping on staying awake, he desperately tried to stay in the light, were Hyunseung was.

But the darkness was calling him, surrounding him rapidly.

After what seemed like forever and even beyond, the sirens finally stopped. By the time they had reached the hospital, Junhyung had lost consciousness.

His hand lay weak into Hyunseung ‘s own. Hyunseung bit his lip, soon a metallic taste filled his mouth.

Junhyung wasn’t awake anymore. He tried squeezing his hand but Junhyung just didn’t squeeze back anymore.

Behind him, the doors of the ambulance opened up. Hyunseung didn’t want to leave his side, but he knew he would have too eventually.

He got out of the ambulance when the doors opened. Lost, he watched as they lifted out Junhyung. He still hadn’t woken up.

Hyunseung didn’t hear everything they were saying but he heard words of the conversation like ‘unconscious’ and ‘hurry’.

Before he realized what was happening, they were rushing Junhyung past him, into the emergency room, away from him.

Hyunseung didn’t know any better than to run after them. One of the paramedics stopped the young boy by putting his hands onto his shoulders.

“I’m sorry, but we’ll need to operate him. we’ll need you to wait in the waiting room, a doctor will soon tell you everything.” The man said in a friendly tone.

Hyunseung nodded slowly, hoping his lips would stop trembling. Then the man left and Hyunseung just watched as the distance between him and Junhyung got bigger.

In the meantime, G-Dragon called a friend of his to bring Junhyung’s car back home, someone he could trust completely.

Then he drove his own car to the hospital, his body hurt like hell, that Daesung guy was strong. But he would be okay, just a bloody nose and some bruises.

He drove a bit faster than was allowed since he wanted to be with Hyunseung as soon as possible, he knew the boy would need him there.

G-Dragon cursed and hit his dashboard when he had to stop in front of the red lights. He could only hope for one thing, that Junhyung was still alive.

He hit his gas pedal hard when the lights turned green. Since he drove fast, he arrived soon at the hospital.

G-Dragon parked his car faster than he had ever done before. He got out of his car after taking a deep breath.

He needed a cigarette, now.

He quickly took one and tried to bit it, he almost put his sleeve on fire but a bit later his cigarette was lit.

G-Dragon closed his eyes as the smoke soon filled his lungs. It had been a while since the last time he had smoked, but he just needed it now.

He decided to postpone the phone call about Daesung and Doojoon, Hyunseung was more important now.

He blew out the smoke into the cold air. He would make damn sure they wouldn’t get away with this, he wouldn’t let them.

Not in a million years.

A little later he threw away his cigarette, he needed to find Hyunseung now.

He entered the hospital and headed straight for the emergency room. From afar, he could see Hyunseung sitting in the waiting room. The boy sat into his chair, hugging his knees while softly rocking back and forth.

G-Dragon swallowed the lump in his throat. The sight of Hyunseung like this broke his heart. The kid had gone through so much, this wasn’t the situation he had been waiting for.

Defeated, he slowly approached Hyunseung, it was strange, he walked as careful as he could since he didn’t want to disturb the boy. Like it would be wrong too.

Hyunseung didn’t look up, not even when his friend was right next to him.

G-Dragon crouched in front of him. he took hold of Hyunseung ‘s hands into his own. His hands were cold, G-Dragon did the best he could to make them warm again.

Then Hyunseung looked up at him, white lips, pale face and red eyes from crying.

G-Dragon wished right there and then he could take back everything that happened.

He should have never ever taken Hyunseung to the meeting. A feeling of guilt washed over him, he pulled the boy close, cradling him into his arms.

Hyunseung closed his eyes as he rested his head against G-Dragon’s chest, the sound of his heart beating was comforting, peaceful.

They stayed like that for a while, both not moving and trying to forget about everything by just holding onto each other.

They didn’t let go until finally a doctor came. “Are you two here for Junhyung?” The man asked.

They both nodded.

Hyunseung could feel his heart beating in his throat. He hoped the news was good.

“Well, I am afraid I have some good and some bad news.” He said.

G-Dragon took hold of the boy’s hand to stop it from trembling.

Hyunseung squeezed his hand in return.

G-Dragon nodded, while tapping his foot impatiently. “Okay, please tell us.” He said, urging for the doctor to go on.

Hyunseung said nothing, he just stared at the man with his doe eyes.

“The good news is that he is alive and stable, the bad news is that he’s in a temporary coma. In order to stay alive, his body has shut down a few functions that aren’t vital. But don’t worry; we are sure of it that he’ll wake up within the week.” The doctor said.

G-Dragon nodded again, this was better than he had expected. To be honest, G-Dragon was afraid that Junhyung would have died.

Then Hyunseung said something, his voice sounded weak. “When can we see him?” He hoped as soon as possible.

The doctor placed a hand onto his shoulder comfortingly. “He’ll be taken to his room soon, in a while you will be able to visit him.” The man said.

Then he gave them a nod, a small smile and turned on his heels and walked down the hallway.

Hyunseung sighed, he didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. But there was one thing to be happy about, he was alive.

Hyunseung seemed not able to cry anymore, he thought he was probably dehydrated. He and G-Dragon sat down in the waiting room, like the name says, waiting.

G-Dragon stood up. “I’ll get us something to drink, I’ll be right back.” He said.

Hyunseung nodded as he stared through the open door. There were so many people walking in the hallway, but Hyunseung felt completely alone.

Something just crossed his mind, maybe he should call Kikwang. He nodded to himself, that sounded like a good idea.

He took out Junhyung’s cell phone from his pocket, one of the paramedics had given it to him. But Hyunseung almost forgot about it.

Then he searched through Junhyung’s list of contact and stopped as he saw Kikwang’s name, then he pressed call.

Kikwang picked up almost right away. “Hey Junnie.” He said happily.

“Hey, it’s Hyunseung.” He said, unable to sound just as happy as Kikwang.

“Oh, hey Hyunseung , is there something wrong?” Kikwang asked, sounding more worried now. He had a feeling there was something wrong, like something bad had happened.

“Junhyung got stabbed, he saved me. I’m at the hospital now. I just thought you should know.” Hyunseung said, he knew he probably sounded incoherent right now but it was difficult to think clearly.

Kikwang gasped at what he had just heard. “Thanks for calling me, I’ll be right there.” He said after taking a breath. He sounded even more worried now.

Hyunseung nodded. “Okay.” He said but no sound came out of his throat, the possibility that Kikwang had heard him was minimal.

He then hung up when G-Dragon came back. He had two cups of coffee with him, normally he didn’t drink coffee but at least it was something to warm him up.

Hyunseung accepted the coffee with a small smile. “I just called Junhyung’s best friend, I thought he should know.” He said.

G-Dragon nodded. “Yeah you’re right about that.” He answered, gently squeezing the boy’s knee.

A little while later, Kikwang arrived as well. He quickly made his way to the waiting room.

Hyunseung greeted him with a small smile. Kikwang walked over to him, and gave him a hug which Hyunseung returned.

Kikwang took hold of his shoulders. “Hyunseung, what happened? Are you alright?” He asked right away.

Hyunseung nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine, don’t worry.” Then he took a deep breath before telling him the whole story.

At parts, G-Dragon finished his sentences where Hyunseung couldn’t. Kikwang listened carefully, he sighed when he knew everything.

He gently shook his head. He just knew Junhyung would do anything for Hyunseung, he had seen it in his eyes, how much he cared for the younger boy.

But he wouldn’t have suspected this, at all. But the most important thing was that Junhyung was alive. So now, all three of them were waiting.

Hyunseung had stopped counting the seconds, because he had lost count a long time ago.

Suddenly a nurse walked in. “You can go see Yong Junhyung now; he’s in room 146, across the hallway.” She said.

Hyunseung didn’t hear what else she said, because he was already running towards Junhyung’s room.
