We got free passes to a screening of Legion last night.

No spoilers so I'll just say that it had some decent elements, but we weren't impressed and openly scoffed at a few things. I think one of the bigger problems is that the scope, at least in terms of what we see as the audience, is very localized whereas we were expecting something on an epic scale. Like your typical apocalypse movie. Not only was it riddled with plotholes but, sadly, they pretty much show all of the coolest stuff in the trailer.

Also, the first row is a bad idea for this movie. Too much shaky cam, ridiculous amount of closeups, and really choppy fight scenes. My head hurt going out and I think I only narrowly escaped motion sickness - having learned my lesson from Hancock, I opted to focus on still areas of the scene or look away entirely to give my eyes occasional breaks.

It's a shame, really, because Paul Bettany is awesome and needs to be in awesome movies.
