Fred felt herself stop breathing for a moment when Giles' fingers brushed her skin to push her hair back. She didn't know why she was feeling this way, why just being around him was making her feel all melty and gooey and trembly. She had just lost Wesley - at least it felt like she had just lost him - and she could feel that loss deep down, knowing that they had never had their chance to be together, but standing here with Giles, she knew he understood what it was like to lose someone and everything. Everything was so different and confusing, and she wanted to reach out to him and hold onto him

Giles listened to Fred speak about him helping her and he didn't want to believe it. It'd been so long since anyone had said anything like that to him. And he still didn't believe he'd done anything to help her. She was the only making him feel like he mattered again. "It's all you, Fred," he quickly said.
When she moved to the bed and took his hand, the breath caught in his throat. Giles quickly shook his head and sat next to her, his hand still in hers. "You're a wonderful Angel, Fred. You've done more for me in the last hour than anyone has over the past year." He looked down and felt his fingers interlock with hers. "As for the feelings…I wish I could explain them. I'm not well versed when it comes to matters of the heart."
He shrugged, his hand still locked with his. Turning toward her, Giles looked into her eyes. "I'm glad I met you too, Fred," he said as he reached over with his free hand and pushed a strand of hair off her cheek. "You're quite lovely."
"I don't feel like a wonderful Angel, but thank you," she said softly, curling her fingers tighter around his. "Maybe it's more that we're helping each other, this being my first assignment and you needing...being able to..."
She trailed off as she looked up into his eyes. When he touched her cheek again to push another strand of hair back, she couldn't help it and leaned forward. Her lips had just brushed his when suddenly, a loud crash caused them to jump apart, Fred almost falling right off the bed.
"What was that?" she asked, both of them running into the hall. They hurried into what looked to be Giles' study to find one of the shelves had completely collapsed, the books in a pile on the floor. However, one was sitting on top, almost as though it had been placed there by someone.
"I have a feeling this was done to get our attention."
When Fred kissed him, Giles felt his heart flutter and he wanted more but when the crash sounded through the flat, he jumped back and cursed whatever happened. He followed Fred out and when they ended up in his study, he eyed the shelf and books. "I believe you're right," he said, taking a step forward

Fred gave Giles a grateful smile when he gave her the gloves. She hadn't seen any in the suitcase and given that it had been snowing, she was glad to have them. As he pulled out his own pair, she pulled them on and followed him down the steps to the foyer.
She was expecting him to head for the door once he picked up his keys, but instead he asked his question, talking about her leaving him. Her chest tightened, and her throat began aching as she looked at him.
"I--I liked it when you kissed me. It...it felt wonderful," she told him softly. "I'm just...I don't know..." She took a deep breath. "I don't have any idea if something like this--if I'm even allowed... I don't want to hurt you. It's the last thing I want to do, but I don't know if they're going to make me leave you behind, and you don't deserve to be treated that way."
Giles stood there and listened to Fred talk, grateful that she didn't mind him kissing her. When he had woke up that morning, he was feeling alone and isolated from the people he cared about. He never thought the emptiness inside of him would be filled with someone people had grieved for just a year before. Looking up toward the ceiling, he said a silent thanks to the Powers for allowing him whatever time he was allowed with Fred. Even if it was just a few short days

Fred gazed up at Giles as he tucked her hair behind her ear. He had done that several times now, and it was possibly one of the most intimate gestures she had ever experienced from anyone

At Fred's words, Giles looked around. He heard what sounded like a rustling noise coming from the direction of his office. Gripping Fred's hand tighter, he started toward the noise. His office door was cracked open and he quietly crept up to it, his hand still wrapped around Fred's

Fred always felt a little embarrassed about baring herself to others, especially because she always felt self-conscious about her body. To her, it had always seemed her breasts were too small or her hips too narrow. Next to someone like Cordy, she thought herself rather plain and forgettable. Even when she had been with Charles

He was afraid to stop. Afraid that if he wasn't connected to her somehow, she'd disappear - another cruel joke played by the Powers. Giles continued to lick and move his fingers inside of her, his erection almost becoming painful. He groaned at the noises she was making, and prayed she wouldn't stop, for it reminded him she was still there, with him

As she came down from her orgasm, panting heavily, Fred felt Rupert raising up above her and opened her eyes, looking up at him as he got out of his jeans. She smiled at the sight of him - he was so beautiful, the expression on his face making him look at least ten years younger than he had when she had met him in the alley. This - them together - seemed to agree with him. It was what both of them needed. They needed each other

Giles saw the tears in Fred's eyes as she pulled him closer. "Don't cry, love," he softly said as he continued to press himself inside of her. It felt so good, and right, as if they were meant to do this. Giles had never felt this connected to anyone before and as he looked down at Fred's face. Her cheeks were flushed, and stained with her tears
