I had to stop and gas up my car on the way to work this morning. As I drove to the gas station, I passed a dead tortoiseshell cat that had been hit by a car. That always hurts to see. I want to stop and gently move the corpse to where it won't get squashed by sadistic drivers. Or maybe in the off chance she was still alive... though I doubt it. It

I always feel bad when I see an animal on the side of the road, or in the middle of the road, wherever. It hurts.

It does. It hurts a lot. I try to look away, but don't always.

She was gone from the road this morning, no sign of her at all. Someone must have picked her up. I was relieved, still hoping some kind soul had found her and taken her to the vet. Wish I had stopped.

It's one of the reasons I try to stop for loose animals and catch them, too.
