Here we have conservatives pitching a hissy over this: Teachers Will No Longer Need To Pass Basic Reading, Writing And Math Test For Certification In This Blue State:
A New Jersey law that removes a requirement for teachers to pass a reading, writing and mathematics test for certification will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2025.
The law, Act 1669, was passed by Democratic New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy as part of the state’s 2025 budget in June in an effort to address a shortage of teachers in the state, according to the New Jersey Monitor. Individuals seeking an instructional certificate will no longer need to pass a “basic skills” test administered by the state’s Commissioner of Education.
Sounds pretty bad, yet I wonder what difference it makes after seeing shit like this: why You Suck at Math and More Why you Suck at Math. Also, the ESSSS-loads of bullshit text books that were obviously written by authors who had little to no understanding of the subject and filled with glaring errors.
The teachers we currently have are mostly dumbasses and/or deliberately obfuscate their lessons to either separate the smart kids form the dumbasses or to dumb down the whole class with deliberately obfuscated, overly complex and highly error prone methods that conceal any real understanding. If your kid's teacher lacks basic skills, s/he ins't going to do a worse job anyway.
Just months earlier, Murphy signed a similar bill into law that created an alternative pathway for teachers to sidestep the testing requirement. A powerful teachers union, the New Jersey Education Association, was a driving force behind the bill, calling the testing requirement “an unnecessary barrier to entering the profession.” Teachers in the state are paid an average of $81,102 annually, according to the National Education Association.
They ain't worth it. Must be a sweet gig if you can get it. They get paid $81,102/yr regardless. However, let a counter man at the corner 7-11 who works for barely more than minimum wage come up short so much as $1.00 in his till at the end of his shift and he'll be canned right then and there. The higher your salary, the less your responsibilities.
As students struggle to regain learning losses caused by school closures during the pandemic, some states, such as MassachusettsThe Peoples Socialist Democratic Republic of Taxachusettes, have opted to lower testing requirements for students in order to allow more to pass rather than make up for the lost education.
Everyone gets an 'A', everyone gets a trophy just for showing up, no body ever fails and nobody ever loses. Gotta protect those pwescious widdle fee-fees. I'm sure leftoids proudly display their participation trophies.
If you have kids, you can no longer rely on your public schools government indoctrination centers. If you can't find a school where kids actually learn, then home school. If you're a kid, you're on your own. Remember, library cards are free, and there's a wealth of instructional web sites just a DuckDuckGo away. There's no one left you can trust.
Parents: go ahead and blow the kids' college funds on that room addition you've been wanting. Why wait for your Golden Years for that luxury car you've been dreaming of? Even better, a nice family vacation that will leave your kids with a lifetime of pleasant memories. About the only thing kids seem to be learning for higher "education" these days is how to conduct leftoid mostly peaceful protests. Always remember, you're saving your kids from the next 20+ years of repaying student loans.
The teacher's unions are scamming the taxpayers, and their members are scamming your kids.
