we're mending babylon, trying to right the wrong

Nov 30, 2010 11:13

I think I know why I no longer feel any attachment to this place. I'm someone who needs to be surrounded by culture. I need to immerse myself fully in it. I need it to be in the air I breathe, in the sights I see, in the cacophony of everyday life that I hear, in the
people who make up my everyday experiences.

That is what this country is severely lacking. No longer is this generation remotely tied to their cultural heritage and identity. Now everything is just lost in this labyrinth of progress, prosperity and yearning to be a global hub. Everything has been diluted due to the streaming influx of foreign talent, and the constant development. We have become an amalgamation of confusion.

And I don't want that.
