Man, todays stage of the tour was intense. o= I couldn't take my eyes off the screen in the last, I dunno, 20 miles.
CONTADOR won. :)) It was awesome. It would have been better if Leipheimer had won - just because he's an American, and we want those 9 straight years of victory (if the Landis thing ever gets resolved). But hey, they're both on Discovery, the team we're rooting for, so it's all good. ^__^
I feel badly for Vinokourov though. He's had such an up/down Tour: crash near the beginning, get stitches, fall behind in the GC, have the time trial of his life, get into the top ten in the GC, and then today? Ouch, he lost 28 minutes. You have to feel for him. :[ He's out of GC contention, essentially.
I wonder what will happen with Contador/Leipheimer. Leipheimer's the team captain, but Contador seems to be proving himself a pretty strong contender for the GC. Will he try to win - or help his captain?
We'll have to see. :o
The stage was so exciting though. With the smashed Peloton and the top GC riders struggling to beat eachother, the poor one-man breakaway, Colom, got completely forgotten. One of the announcers even said, "Oh, I'd completely forgotten about him!" xp
In the end, it was a battle between the GC jersey and the young rider's jersey, with the KOM jersey right behind.
Wow. :] I love the Tour, can't you tell? xP Well, just know my family's just as insane as me. We are NEVER allowed to eat dinner in our living room - except for today, when we all wanted to watched the enhanced coverage. Heh.
ANYWAY.
I got my license! You should have seen my reaction when the instructor told me I'd passed -
Oh my god thank you so so much thank you oh my god yay yay -big grin-
Yeah. It was pretty dignified.
I got a 98 - just missed two points on parallel parking (blech! I'm never parallel parking again in my life - if I can). I had thought I was going to fail, considering I suck at driving (Heather would agree with me :P - but my parents and the instructor wouldn't, which I guess is good for me).
I'd actually had nightmares about the test (instructor having a heart attack and/or passing out during the test, etc.).
I'm so happy it's over. ^________^ YAYAYAY.
And..HP#7! I got it yesterday afternoon and read essentially constantly until 3AM.
WOW. It was..wow.
I don't want to spoil it - I'll just say I hated the last chapter (epilogue, I guess). Maybe I just need things left to the imagination. :p
I have yet to see the 5th movie though - my parents have been out of town for about two weeks (not together, but their combined total is about 14 days :p). I heard it was the best one..yes? No?
One last thing. I may not do XC next year cause, um, I don't really want to. We'll see. But I haven't been running. Or going to practice.
Actually, there's another thing (I guess I lied xp):
I'm going to DC soon. We're driving to Seattle, flying to DC, staying a week, flying back to Seattle, and then driving home.
Yuck, huh? Then, the NEXT day, we're driving in ONE DAY (yarrggh) to Sacramento, staying for like, 2 days, and then driving home.
Then WSU starts - meaning I start.
WHERE'S THE SUMMER GONE? D:
