(no subject)
woops its been like a month and a half.
ive been pretty busy. school and all.
finals are this week. I had my first one last saturday, 8AM. which sucked. then another one monday and tuesday, and then I had what should have been my 2 easiest today: spanish and philosophy. philosophy is a take home essay that he emailed us last night and then we just have to email back our response by tonight. and spanish was an "interview" this afternoon. but...i am just really disappointed by UD's spanish department and i didn't do that great at my interview, and yea, part of that is my problem, the fact that i need to put more into my spanish classes, but another part of it is the professors. im just really annoyed right now i guess. and i know it's not just me, so that makes it worse. basically, it goes like this: i have now had 5 college semesters of spanish and i really have yet to feel like i am improving or grasping the language much at all. yes, it is a hard thing to learn another language after a certain age, and yes i have a lot of other things that may seem more important at times, but the class i was in this semester was a "conversation" class, so obviously, that means we should really be just speaking and using the language. well, my professor REALLY liked talking about herself, so pretty much class consisted of 20-25 minutes of her talking about herslf, maybe using the last 25 to talk about something in our lives in small groups, but usually somewhere in that second half she would think of some other issue in her life and then talk about it for a good 5-10 minutes. so really, i maybe got the chance to actually have a spanish conversation 1/3 times per week. it was a total joke to everyone in the class.
anyway...
i still have to find an internship for the summer. im just not having any success and i cannot bear the thought of working at bed bath & beyond for 40 hours a week AGAIN.
