Last Saturday.
Myer Highpoint.

Me: I'm looking for the eeePC 1201N.
Myer staff: bzuh?
Me: The one with the free USB DVD drive?
Myer staff: whut?
Me: Let me show you ... yes, the 11th one on the list.
Myer staff: oh. well. it says it's out of stock. you can order it. you'll get a call around the 27th when it's in.
Me: You mean, I can't even look at a display one before ordering?
Myer staff: No. we do not have it on display. And we won't have it on display either. You can only order it.
Me: is that the same across all your stores?
Myer staff: yes.

This Saturday.
Myer Highpoint.

Me to mum: I'm looking for the 1005P.
Mum: bzuh?
Me: OMG! THIS IS THE 1201N! THIS IS IT! OMG!
Mum: whut?
Me: OMG! OMG! BITCH SAID IT WOULDN'T BE ON DISPLAY.
Mum: I have no idea what you're talking about.
Me: OMG. I WANT THIS NOW.
Mum: Buy it then.
Me: OMG. YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO PREVENT ME FROM BUYING IT.
Mum *confused*.

This Satuday.
Whirlpool forums.

Me: the 1201N is on display at myer highpoint
WP guy: it's been on display as early as last sunday
Me: LAST SUNDAY? *hates myer staff*

yes, last saturday, i was told it wouldn't be on display but it apparently went on display on sunday. :| :|

the 1201N, it's, like, perfect. it's bigger but not laptop-big. the keyboard is less retarted than proper netbook keyboards. it runs windows 7 HP - but as expected battery life is next to nothing (3-4 hours using power save). i don't know what to dooooo. i want it but technically, the 1005P makes more sense due to its longer battery life (11.5hrs claimed, people are getting 6-7 i think).

DECISIONS, DECISIONS.

i'm thinking maybe i could buy this and a spare battery?
