So. It's now Saturday, February 26th, 2005. Yesterday, I went into surgery to have one bad molar and three wisdom teeth removed. One minute I'm asleep, the next minute I am waking up from a pleasant nap with gauze pads in my mouth. Boy oh boy, do I ache. *Groans*

The stitches are severely aggrevating, for one thing. And the fact that I can't eat any solid food is another sore spot on my bruised ego. It's all mashed potatoes and milk shakes for like, almost a week. I can barely open my mouth, because it stretches my stitches and hurts the insides of my cheeks, and the swelling is beginning. Not pleasant.

Dad was very surprised, because about two hours after we got home, the phone rang, and it was Dr. Kershmin's office. And it wasn't a secretary, it was Dr. Kershmin himself, calling to see how I was holding up after the surgery! Daniel commented on how weird that was, but hey, he took out Daniel's, Willie's, and Sara's wisdom teeth when they were in their late teens, so maybe it's a case of "How is this Vanderbrink doing? Just as good as all the others I've worked on? Good!"

Owwiez. Much ache. I want my hydrocodone. But I can't take it for several more hours.

I have been eating mashed potatoes, jello, and milkshakes. And I've found so far that the milk shakes are the easiest on my mouth. So I think I'm gonna make another one here in a minute. They're cold, they're smooth, they're creamy, and they slide down without a problem to the stitches.

And you know what? As soon as I get the go-ahead to eat solid food, I'm gorging myself at Taco Bell! Just cuz I can do that. And trust me, I can't wait.

Owwiez.
