Alternately drowning and being struck by lightning
So I'm showering this morning, it's about 6:30, and just as I'm washing the conditioner out, there is a sudden flash I can see thru the skylight - and then the power goes out. Dang. Stupid lightning.
So I get out, feeling like Gollum in the cold and darkness, creeping around with drippy hair - eventually I do get dressed and get makeup on by candlelight - Kira gets to school (they have power yay)
And because my car is in the shop (tries hard not to think about this expense that, combined with property taxes being due, will pretty much clean me out), after a cold and wet "take Kira to school" adventure, I have to drive Laszlo to work. So, I do, in the Blue PT, and I can barely see the whole way down 280. We eventually get there and then, just as I'm leaving, lighting strikes frikkin' NEXT to me, I'm blinded, Laszlo calls me on my cell. He says "Are you ok?" and I report that I am somehow still alive. I blink a lot. The wipers are doing their best. Driving back, the road is flooded and I have to stop (the whole freeway slows to a stop as a river apparently decided that its riverbed wasn't enough for it and had to borrow Highway 280 for a bit)....
Right now I'm in a parking lot in front of a place I suspected had free WiFi. I was correct. It's raining too hard for me to go anywhere, so it's just me and my laptop and some Whole Foods chicken soup and Laszlo's car.
