Delightful. Yes, delightful. worldof_wonders March 2 2009, 02:24:01 UTC
Fabulous! And you have invited the Great Hermann! Of course, I am delighted! It is an exciting week! It is the Welsh National holiday, St. David's Day, today. Thursday is the Cornish National Holiday, St. Piran's Day! Today is also Martenitsa in Bulgaria, as per my dear friend who offers the tassels below! And on the 14th it is pi day and Einstein's birthday! Hurrah!

It is your birthday? Which day, if I may be so bold as to ask? How delightful!

John will be happy to regale you with renditions of the songs of Thomas Moore, of which he is naturally canonically fond, and I will be happy to perform a little magic, though it be humble in comparison. Severus - well I am not sure, but I dare say he will participate in some way.

great! well i hope it will hold interest as the week goes on - and indeed many great days this week (heh heh), my dad is cornish so St Piran's is quite big. And my birthday is this week, quite right:)) and several close friends - fishy as they are.

thanks for the tassels - i'll post them as the days come up:)

any participation from your good self would be appreciated:))
and songs from John, naturally.

i may have a story or two of my time as a trickster and jongleur.

the hard part is time zones - but that's half the fun too:)

have you heard of the National Fairground Archive in Sheffield (UK)? Run by Dr Vanessa Toulmin - i used to go there quite a bit, many amazing posters and souvenirs of Magic LAntern shows, Magicians, Pepper's Ghost etc etc:)

Alas, I have not heard of the National Fairground Archive, but if I ever find myself in Britain I will surely visit, for it sounds awesome.

My father is Cornish also!

I have been there! Though alas, not recently. I have a large family there. In the south west of Cornwall. Do you know any Cornish then? I am patriotic.

i think maybe all families in cornwall are large:) mine spraawls all over the place.

as for speaking it - well, i tend to remember broken bits and pieces, nothing useful - but the accent? oh yes, if i talk to my dad for my than 5 minutes!! and we share a love of scones and pasties naturally:))
