So I've been restlesss all day. I have a ton of things that need doing, bit I just couldn't get any of it going. It happens.
Sooo, I took myself to a movie. I'd been hearing that The Hangover was hilarious. I could use some hilarity says me. There weren't many folks at the theatre so I sat myself pretty near perfect center with popcorn and pepsi.
Just before the previews came on, a family came in with 2 SMALL children, we're talking under 5. I'm thinking this is an r-rated movie with r-rated previews. The first one had 'adult content' and 'sexual situations' plastered all over. Another one was one of those 'Chucky' type films and was pretty scary and wildly innappropriate for children.
I couldnt get those kids out of my mind for the rest of the previews and movie.
The fact that the main attraction was awful didn't help. How is it that crude, gross and unecessary/over-the-top foul language became entertainment? I'm not a prude and use more than my share of choice words, but this was ridiculous. Several times I actually thought about walking out. I'm not sure why I didn't. I think I was too preoccupied formulating some remark for the adults that brought the kids in, and/or to the theatre management for their lousy censoring. I was that disturbed by it all.
Anyway, stupid people, awful movie. I think I am becoming my mother.
In the immortal words of Scarlet O'Hara, tomorrow is another day.
