Getting things cleared off the table
Last month I paid off the Toyota. It is now owned.
Yesterday I transferred money to Linda to pay off her second credit card. That reduces her to one card with a balance. She has been told she needs to put 1k a month into the joint account from which groceries, cell phone and Finn expenses will come.
She argued about that, for a few wrongheaded reasons. I think she wants to keep all her pay and have me continue to carry everything. I told her that was not going to happen, that she needed to pay at least half what I do toward monthly bills. I don't make twice what she does, but oh well.
She wanted to pay off her second card herself, but she made $400 of principle difference in a year. At that rate is be carrying her forever.
I hope to have her able to be financially independent by next summer. Being who I am I can not leave her to her own devices to flounder and fail. If she fails, Finn suffers.
I'll be at Roses, Memorial Day weekend. I'll have Finn with me.
