would the elderly in our country volunteer to do this if the disaster had happened here?

please, mother nature, spare them from further earthquakes and tornadoes. give them some time to recover before you hit them again.
i really hope they will come back so strong, that the next time there's such a severe earthquake, they wouldnt be so badly affected.
pretty wishful thinking of my part, because it's foolish for humans to think that they can win a fight against nature, but i hope that they would be fully prepared next time.
