It Begins!

Laine sighed and took a sip of her tea. It was rather an inconvienient day to be feeling peaky, but she couldn't really help that too much. The tea was nice, and the nap earlier in the afternoon had been good (though perhaps not as effective as she'd hoped). She was too excited to sleep! It looked like everything was in place, and really she'd not had to do too much to begin with for this particular meeting. The girls would be here any minute, and this meeting really belonged to them. From now on Laine planned on being very involved in making elaborate set ups for the club's get togethers, but this one was about the officers bonding and deciding on a real direction for their organization.
Laine was only a little bit nervous. She knew Saffron and Mission very well, and from everything she'd seen Amalia and Deirdre were very responsible and nonconfrontational people. All in all it seemed like a great group of leaders. (And Danny seemed like she'd be a perfect mascot, of course.) She grinned and then glanced at her bedroom door, making sure it was closed. That was where she'd shoved everything (her version of tidying up), though there were still stacks of books on the floor beside her shelves, and a pile of binders, quills, and small, colourful ink bottles smack in the middle of the sitting area. The food would come later. Now all they needed were officers! Laine padded over to her front door, her footsteps muffled by her thick, bright blue and bronze socks, and propped it open before returning to her chair, facing so she could people as they came in.
