Just as Spider-man has his spidey sense to warn him when danger's near, the bizarre tentacled snake has its own special system for sensing an approaching meal, a new study says.
The reptile uses its two head tentacles to "see" and pursue prey in murky lakes and slow-moving rivers in Southeast Asia, researchers have discovered. (See snake pictures.)
Seems a sheep farmer in Alton Illinois Africa was puzzled about the disappearance of some sheep on his farm. After a few weeks the farmer decided to put up an electric fence.

New Scientist has also made a list of the years weirdest animals including a hairy frog that actively breaks its own bones to produce claws that puncture their way out of the frog's toe pads, probably when it is threatened and zombie caterpillars among others.
New Scientist has chosen its 12 Most Stunning Images of 2008 which includes a gorgeously freaky chick embryo, a baby kangaroo (more like an embryo) within its mother's pouch and a strange deadlock where a cat-eyed tree-snake, coiled around a branch, was locked in an embrace with a Morelet's treefrog.
