I promised funky butterflies with tails fit for falling stars so here they are.
We were lucky to see three of them in one night and they didn't comeback the next, nor were seen for some time before that.

Saw this on goaste_request and thought it was so cool. A Canker Worm is another name for an Inchworm, the larvae of a Geometridae moth. They are pests and their cocoon building can get out of hand as you can see:

The parasitoid wasp Glyptapanteles lays its eggs, about 80 at a time, in young geometrid caterpillars. The eggs hatch and the larvae feed on the caterpillar's body fluids.
