God I love this community.


The sucker-footed bat. The article on it is here.


The southern sandslider. No, it does not have front legs.


The babirusa. The males have two sets of tusks that never stop growing; the inner pair actually breaks through the roof of the mouth and continue growing, and as they grow, they curl, and there is a chance of them penetrating the skull and rupturing the brain if they get too long.


The tentacle snake. Named for the two tentacle-like projections on the end of its snout, probably used as lures; the exact function is unknown.


The Iberian desman. They're related to moles.


And the lesser mole rat. I find it uglier than its naked cousin.
