Flatworms have no body cavity other than the gut (and the smallest free-living forms may even lack that!) and lack an anus; the same hole both takes in food and expels waste. Because they don't have any other cavity they have to be flat, or parts of them will suffocate or starve - there's simply nothing to make a circulatory system out of

I'm not sure just how many pulsing worms you'd have to have eating away your brain before you could ever possibly call your parasite posts "boring", but I suspect it's quite a few.

Your posts are quite the opposite of boring. That's not necessarily a good thing, mind you...

Anyway, if I were the previous respondant, I'd be getting my blood checked... Your parasite posts are disturbing but fascinating, and obviously have the support of your readers. I'd suggest that you write what you want to write -- that which fascinates you.

Although seeing this video made me shriek "MOTHER OF GOD!" loud enough to frighten my cat . . . I'd seen still photos of Leucochloridium before, but I hadn't realized that when the description said "pulsing," they meant HOLY GIANT THROBBING EYESTALK-PHALLI . . . *fear*
