“Please, unnie, you have to let me go!” Sunny puts on her cutest pout, following Taeyeon around as the leader packs her things.

“No, what I have to do is make sure you’re all back and ready in time for today’s Music Core recording! And if I know you, you’ll get carried away with your shopping and won’t be back until it’s too late.” And the leader’s always the one to be scolded by their manager-oppa, not just the culprit herself.

“But it’s White Day, and I need to buy something! I promise I’ll be really quick!” Sunny’s pleas catch Sooyoung’s attention, as the tall girl walks by them.

“Don’t the boys normally buy presents for us on White Day? Why do you need to get anything?” She points out logically, lifting a brow in confusion.

Taeyeon nods her head in firm agreement and Sunny huffs. “I just want to get something new to wear for our date tonight, alright? It’s special!”

Taeyeon sighs, resting her head in her hands, and Sooyoung knows it’s only a matter of moments before their leader caves in. “Okay. If you’re not back in one hour…” She trails off, unable to think of a suitable threat as Sunny hugs her excitedly and dashes out the door.

“You let her get away with everything.” Tiffany pipes up amusedly, and Taeyeon glares at her.

“I don’t know why I put up with you guys. You’re all cheeky and whiny when you don’t get your way, and you all have boyfriends…” She latches on to their maknae, who squeaks a little in surprise. “…except my Seohyunnie! She’s an angel compared to you!”

Seohyun doesn’t know whether to laugh or be afraid. Jessica snorts at Taeyeon’s outburst. “Favouritism.”

Taeyeon sticks out her tongue at Jessica. “Whatever. At least you know you’ll be getting something on White Day.”

“So will you - our fans always send us gifts!” Sooyoung grins and Taeyeon sighs.

“It’s not the same, though. Right, Seohyunnie?”

Seohyun thinks back to one month ago when she gave her gift to Seungri, wondering if the boy will return the gift. She thinks that maybe he doesn’t really like her in the same way, not when he only referred to them as friends before. “I’m probably not going to get anything.” It comes out more pathetic than she means it to, and Tiffany leans over to rub her back comfortingly.

“Aw, don’t say that! You know the Super Junior oppas always give us something!”

Jessica shakes her head and smiles. “They’re really busy now with their comeback; they might forget about us this year.”

Tiffany frowns. “After I dedicated my part in Gee to them yesterday? Listen, shawty, shawty? They’d better remember.”

“At least Teukie-oppa likes you - he’s sure to give you a present.” Sooyoung winks mischievously. They’d often liked to tease Eeteuk about his fondness for Seohyun, despite the eight-year gap between the two.

Seohyun remembers that they don’t know about Seungri, and smiles sweetly, amidst Taeyeon’s vow that they’ll celebrate Black Day together.

--

“What’s that?” Daesung points at the messily wrapped present in Seungri’s hands, and the latter stuffs it into his bag hurriedly.

“Nothing.” He bluffs unconvincingly.

Daesung’s grin widens, his eyes disappearing into upside-down ‘U’s. “Aw, our maknae’s all grown up and giving gifts to girls on White Day!”

Making a rude face, Seungri turns back to his table, where more different-shaped presents lie, and puts them one by one into his bag. “This one’s for Solbi-noona, this one’s for my stylist noona…”

Daesung pats him on the head. “Such a smart kid, learning from your favourite hyung how to please girls.”

“Youngbae-hyung’s my favourite.” Seungri deadpans and Daesung gapes comically. Youngbae, who happens to walk past the room and hears Seungri’s declaration, smiles happily.

“You’re my favourite dongsaeng too, Seungri-yah!” He winks, and Daesung whirls around to smack him.

“You said I was your favourite!” Daesung flails around while Youngbae continues to tease him.

Seungri counts the presents slowly in his mind. And this one’s for Seohyunnie...

--

“This has been Music Core, show, show, show! Goodbye!” The three MCs wave at the swaying camera before the red light goes off and SNSD starts performing Gee. They bow to each other, Daesung and Seungri thanking Solbi for the hard work and vice versa.

Back at their waiting room, Seungri takes out one of the gifts and gives it to Solbi, who’d given him a present one month ago on Valentine’s. She accepts it with a bright smile, and a ‘you shouldn’t have!’

Then he makes his way to the performers’ rooms, looking for the one with SNSD’s name on the door. He finds the correct one and pauses outside, trying to think of how to give Seohyun the present without all the other girls noticing.

He nearly jumps up in shock when someone taps his shoulder, and he whirls around to see Sungmin smiling happily at him. “Seungri-yah, long time no see!”

Seungri quickly bows to the older singer, relieved that it’s one of the Super Junior members he does know, thanks to the Wonder Boys. “Congratulations on your comeback, hyung! Your new song is really great!”

“Thanks!” Sungmin grins at the compliment, and then Seungri notices that the other boy is carrying what looks like a large bag of presents.

“Are those White Day gifts?”

Sungmin looks down at the bag and nods. “It’s from most of the band to our SNSD dongsaengs. I’m just the one who has to carry it.” As if on cue, several more members of Super Junior start coming in their direction.

“Oh. So it’s not…personalised or anything?” Seungri tries not to sound too relieved. He doesn’t really want any of the handsome sunbaes specially giving Seohyun a gift. Not that he doesn’t want her to be popular, but he would rather his gift be the best one.

Sungmin tilts his head to the side. “Well, some are pretty generic, like candies, but there still are some personalised ones. The members will give those out by themselves though.” The other members come up, and Seungri sees that most of them are holding on to a few presents of their own, though they check the large bag to make sure that there’s at least one for every girl.

Seungri wonders if the SM family really is so close that they all exchange gifts during this period. The young men knock and open the door, and the chatter inside increases twofold in volume, as they all start talking excitedly about each other’s performances.

Seungri slips in unnoticed amidst the chaos, nearly bumping into Hyoyeon, who’s attempting the Sorry, Sorry dance enthusiastically. Seohyun sees him, her eyes widening in surprise, and makes her way over to the corner where he’s standing.

“Hi, Seungri-oppa.” He feels an odd fluttering in his stomach at the sound of her soft voice.

“Hi. Here, this is for you; Happy White Day.” He presents the gift to her without preamble, and fervently hopes that he isn’t blushing. Seohyun takes the gift with slightly shaky hands, feeling just so happy that he’s giving her a present on White Day. She wants to take it as a definite sign that he likes her too, but she doesn’t dare to presume so yet.

“Would you be free this evening for dinner?” Seungri smiles at her hopefully, but he feels crushed when she shakes her head regretfully.

“We have a live performance later at night, and I think we’ll only get back at nine or so...” She trails off as his face falls even further, and a small part of her feels thrilled at being...wanted, for lack of a better word.

Then Seungri notices Taeyeon glancing at them, and immediately drops the frown, assuming a neutral expression. “I guess I’d better be going, then. I hope you like it, Seohyunnie.” He indicates the gift, and with a wistful smile that goes straight to her heart, he leaves the room.

--

They return back to their dorm, tired out from the intensive schedule today, though Taeyeon marvels that some of them apparently still have enough energy to go out with their boyfriends. She foresees having to use drastic measures to wake them up tomorrow, and groans in exhaustion.

Their manager brings up the rear with bags and bags of White Day presents from their predominantly male fanclub that have been left at the security guardhouse, and the members quickly take those belonging to them, leaving the rest in the living room for the others to keep when they return.

Seohyun looks at the messages on the cards attached to each gift before opening them. She suddenly notices the name Lee Seunghyun, to her surprise, and wonders if one of her fans has the same name as Seungri. But then she realises that the wrapping paper is the same as that of the gift she received from him earlier.

She deliberately leaves his presents for the last, after she’s opened all the rest and sorted them into piles based on what they contain. Most of them are various types of candy and chocolate - the standard White Day gift expected of men.

Finally she picks up one of his presents, which has a number ‘1’ circled on it, with a short message to ‘please open this one first’. Her fingers tremble as she carefully peels off the tape and unwraps it…to find a box of assorted candy, and her heart sinks a little in disappointment.

What was she expecting? A piece of jewellery? Home-made chocolate like the one she’d slaved over to make for him? Guys didn’t go around creating confectionary for girls who weren’t even their girlfriends, she told herself sternly.

She takes the present marked with a ‘2’, and opens it to find a Strong Baby CD. She laughs at the silliness of him sending her his CD (when she’s already bought it). The message on the card says, “I’ve already got all of yours - thought you might like to have mine too!”

Touched that he’s bought all of SNSD’s CDs, she turns to the last strangely shaped gift - the one he personally handed to her, and can barely contain her excitement. It’s squashy, and she pulls out an adorable stuffed teddy bear, nearly squealing as she buries her face in its soft fur.

At first she thinks it’s just a regular stuffed toy available from any shop selling White Day gifts, but then looking at the tag, realises that it’s the kind of bear that’s self-made. The thought of Seungri in a shop trying to fill the bear with stuffing makes her giggle.

A piece of paper flutters down to her lap, and the short sentence tells her to open the CD case and look inside the jacket. She does so, and sees a lengthier message written inside.

Dear Seohyun,

Happy White Day! If you’re reading this you probably got all three of my presents, right? I made the bear myself, isn’t it cute? It reminds me of you in a way, soft and cute. And if you don’t like the bear, then you’ll still have the CD. And if you already have the CD, then at least you’ll still get the candy, which I’m sure you’ll like! I’m really sorry we couldn’t have dinner tonight, but if you don’t mind going out, I’ll wait for you outside your dorm.

Seungri

Seohyun hugs the bear close, wondering how on earth he could think that she wouldn’t appreciate his efforts into the present. Then the last line sinks in. How would he know whether she’d go out with him? Her eyes widen, and she rushes out to go down, grabbing her things along the way.

She hurries out of the lift lobby at the ground level, and sees Seungri waiting patiently outside the gate. She runs out through the gate, and Seungri’s entire face brightens up. “Seohyunnie!”

Seohyun stares at him. “Seungri-oppa, were you waiting here for me?”

Seungri nods slowly. “Wait, I thought you came down because you wanted to go out…”

She nods as well. “Yes, but…how long have you been standing here?”

He cocks his head to the side. “Well, after passing the presents to your security guard, I went for a short stroll, and saw you girls going in just as I came back. I was hoping you’d see my presents immediately, and I guess you did!” He beams at her.

“But what if I hadn’t? What if I just fell asleep without looking at them?” She’s flustered in a way no one else makes her feel, as he doesn’t seem to understand what she means.

Seungri shrugs nonchalantly. “I thought I’d wait for an hour or two, and then go home if you didn’t come down.”

“Well, you could have texted me instead of possibly wasting your time waiting here.” Seohyun starts to wonder if Seungri has lost all his common sense for the moment.

“I didn’t want you to feel badgered into coming, and anyway…” He smiles slowly, and it sends shivers tingling down her spine. “…you’re worth waiting for, Seohyunnie.”

She covers her mouth at the unexpectedly sweet statement, not quite sure how to respond.

“And since you did come down after all, does that mean we can go out now?”

Seohyun laughs at his irrepressible good humour and nods enthusiastically, linking her arm with his. Seungri feels a little giddy at her sudden closeness to him, betraying it only with a hitch in his breath.

“I’m surprised your manager lets you girls go out at this time of night.” He jokes, trying to drown out the sound of his erratically beating heart that he’s positive she must be able to hear.

“Oh. I didn’t ask him. Or Taeyeon-unnie either.” It only just occurs to her that their beloved leader might just go running out and looking for her. Seungri looks at her in surprise, Seohyun always having struck him as the responsible type.

“Won’t you get into trouble, then?” He doesn’t want her to get scolded on his account, just because of his eagerness to spend every precious moment with her that he can.

Seohyun turns to face him and smiles cutely, taking his breath away. “You’re worth getting into trouble for, Seungri-oppa.”

Please comment if you read it! I know it's not very well-written though.
