It's for real ... again
I was given notice last week, so my last official day of employment, for now, is next Friday, January 11. I'm excited. The start of the new year, losing my loser job -- the sense of possibility is almost tangible. What's next? Anything could be next!
I can't figure out if I have worse luck with jobs or with dating...! Although, I guess it's not bad luck. I have lots of good experiences and memories (with jobs and dates). They just don't seem to last.
Well, money is tight, so I can't dilly-dally... but I can apply for unemployment and coast for a bit, before I dive into the next uninspiring assignment. Maybe finally do that voice demo, solicit freelance work, and start a non-profit that provides alternatives to formal education for teens. (My interest in education and all that's messed up about it is being rekindled by a book I'm reading, "The Case Against Adolescence," by Epstein. Recommendation! Especially to you parents out there. Or anyone who remembers their troubled teens.)
