Ok, so I'm e-mailing they guy with the piercings and chain. He tells me it's a ritual in the Austrian village he's from, to pierce the nipples of the first-born. To remove the rings/studs/whatever is bad luck.

I'm still skeptical. But if it's true, ah well. And if not, he's got an excellent sense of humor.
But on a more serious note, I met another online "victim." This guy is the nicest and most thoughtful ever: we met at a concert, and he knew I had a cold, so he brought me cough drops -- good ones, too. He then listened to my band play for four hours, and drove me home afterwards, which was just a bit out of his way. We had agreed we should have a date where we could actually talk, but last night I was still feeling too sick to go out, so he came over and brought homemade curry, as well as another battery of cold remedies, and a copy of one of my favorite kids movies that he's mentioned in his profile.
However -- I'm not getting any chemistry. I don't think we're a good match, although we'll see how the actual dinner tonight goes. He's already been so nice, and he told me he likes me, and now I feel just a tad guilty. So he better let me pay for dinner!
