[team two] the one with papapics
it's been a while. lame title, but here's something from a piece i'm working on--jwest (kinda) meets paradise kiss.
As his eyes close, Ryusei thinks about what happened earlier during dinner, and how Tomohiro is likely to have his head served up on a platter for the bosses this time next week because of it. He startles awake, his sock-clad feet propped on the table when Shuuka comes out from her room with a white envelope in hand.
"Someone sent this to our agency earlier today." She pulls out a stack of photos and hands them over to him.
Shot after shot after shot of him and Nozomu, from three nights ago at the club. Definitely dancing too close to each other, his hands gripping the younger's hips, Nozomu's secret smile almost hidden between the crook of Ryusei's neck and his shoulder. With the Milan shows coming up, the press would have a field day--not that he hadn't already had his share of scandals over the years.
"It's not like that," Ryusei starts to say, but Shuuka just shakes her head at him.
"I'm not going to lecture you about whatever that is." She purses her lips, and Ryusei notices only now that she's worried, not angry. "You can handle your own love life, Nii. It's none of my business, really."
"But?"
Shuuka sighs. "I just don't want Mom and Dad seeing these. Karen, we can explain to, but what about them? They already think we're being too willful, being away from home all the time. What if this becomes news?"
To be honest, Ryusei doesn't want Karen seeing the photos, either. Even growing up in the industry hadn't taken away most of her simple-mindedness and childlike disposition. Shuuka's different--she had always been strong-willed, independent with her decisions even at a young age. Where Karen was soft-spoken, Shuuka was vocal about her opinions and proactive with her goals. Ryusei wants to protect her, too, only half the time he thinks she's more mature than him.
"I'll do something about the photos, okay? Stop worrying, I don’t like it." Ryusei pats his leg, and Shuuka hesitates for a moment before laying her head on his lap.
