I knew there would be messages from Jack when I got home. When I’m sick, Jack knows before I do. Funny about that. Either people are sending reports to Jack the same day or else Jack is logging into the SGC computers. Wouldn’t put it past him.
He thought he knew everything. Vala’s sacrifice. My collapse on Prometheus. My feelings of guilt that Vala was gone. What he didn’t know is that I never meant to care for Vala. He didn’t know how much her disappearance hurt. That I didn’t mean to fall for her in the end.
He does now. I called him tonight and told him. Then I told him how much I love him and that I’d be in DC tomorrow since Laundry has given SG-1 a few days down time. Being held by Jack will make the pain go away. It always does.
