I've been needing to write that column, and I'm glad I did

Wrote a column for this week that I was pretty happy with. Thought I'd share it with the rest of the class. I hope yall like it. Here's the link:

In other news, I'm a bit perturbed. See if you can follow the logic here. My friend (and ex-girlfriend) Judy had asked me a couple days ago to help her with a paper she had to do. Thing is, she called me the day before it was due, having only completed one page of this six-page paper. I did what I could to give her tips on the paper over the phone, which isn't easy to do. Anyway, she put a paper together only after copying a bunch of stuff from another source, only rewording things sporadically. Her back was hurting her that night, so she went to rest, and her husband sent the paper via e-mail to her teacher, not knowing that Judy had decided not to send the plagiarized information after all. She tried talking to her teacher about it, but her teacher was going to hold her accountable for the plagiarism.
Here's what I need explained to me: how is it that Judy can send me an offline message basically saying, "I tried to call you to get you to help me write my paper, and and I waited and waited, but I didn't get one response, not one." Certainly sounds to ME like she's blaming me for the grade she got. I have a full-time job, and even when I'm off, I'm up to my ears in stuff that Liv and I have going on. As it is, Liv and I barely get to spend any quality time together as of late. And Judy wants me to bend over backwards to help her with a paper she was hoping I'd bail her out on completely? How is this situation my fault? Does anybody know?
Grr. Arg.
More later, yall...
