I saw the neurologist yesterday. She said that I've been having massive migraines but no seizures or anything, which is good; apparently in migraines you can lose the ability to understand things and have trouble speaking too, so the next course of action is to find a way to cut back on the migraines. So in the next two months I'm taking massive magnesium and B-Complex supplements- apparently migraines are sometimes caused by low magnesium levels in the brain- and cutting back on migraine triggers, many of which are foods I don't like anyway. I'm actually really excited about having a real excuse to turn down onions...I knew those things were bad anyway...I had an opportunity to try out one of the sample drugs last night, and it actually helped, way more than ibuprofen ever has and without any of the lingering bad feelings I usually get the morning after the migraine. So I think to be safe I'm going to go off chocolate, MSG, alcohol, and all artificial sweetners completely and cut back on everything else, especially cheese, within the next two months and see how much that helps. I shouldn't be eating that sort of thing anyway. I was thinking actually of going almost vegan for the first month of summer, just so I can learn how to eat vegetables and things, especially since it seems that I may have to go off wheat eventually anyway. I'm worried that if I just drop wheat I'll double up on cheese, which will make me more unhappy.
I'm starting work tomorrow! I'm very excited. And today we're probably buying a bed which means I can actually move to the apartment in time. I've got one more paper left but I pretty much just finished it. Hooray! Life is good.
