Summary: Tora finds out his Cross Game contacts scare his band mates, and uses that to his advantage - especially on Nao.
Author's Comment: I realized I'd had this done but had forgotten to post it, so here it is. I wanted to get a better grip on Tora's character but I'm still not very good at writing him... and this was an absolute nightmare to edit ><
Tora brushed his dark hair out of his face as he turned the corner of the studio they’d filmed Cross Game in, wondering where Nao had gone. He’d practically scared Shou out of his skin a few minutes ago when he’d tapped the vocalist on the shoulder to ask if he’d seen Nao. Shou had turned around, seen his white contacts, and shrieked so loud he’d put a girl in a horror movie to shame. After scolding Tora for startling him, Shou had told him that Nao had gone to the bathroom and was probably still there. So Tora was on his way there to see if he could scare Nao as well - which he knew he could.
Finally finding the bathroom, Tora slipped inside as quietly as he could. Nao stood in front of the sinks, humming absently as he washed his hands. Smirking, Tora snuck up behind the drummer and seized his shoulders. “Hello, Nao,” he purred in the creepiest voice he could muster.
Nao started, glancing up and yelping as he saw Tora’s white eyes in the mirror. “Tora!” he shrieked, jumping back and clutching his heart while Tora smirked. “Tora! You scared me,” he said, crossing his arms with a pout.
Tora put on his best innocent smile. “I didn’t plan to.”
Nao scowled. “Oh, sneaking up on me then talking to me with a creepy voice wasn’t a plan to scare me?”
Tora ruffled the drummer’s hair. “I accidentally scared Shou earlier so I was curious to see if it’d work on you.”
“Well it did,” Nao grumbled, pouting more and looking so adorable Tora couldn’t help but lean in and kiss him. For a few moments Nao didn’t kiss back, but soon enough he tangled his fingers in Tora’s hair and returned it. Even when he was in a pouty mood, Nao couldn’t resist kisses from his favorite tiger.
Tora pulled back and straightened. “Are you ready to go home?”
A little flushed, Nao nodded. “Yes. We need to change first, and I want to talk to our manager before we go. You better take out those contacts too, Tora-shi!”
“Why? I like them.”
“They’re creepy!”
Tora smirked. “I think they’re fun.” He pulled Nao out of the bathroom. “Let’s get changed.” They went into the room where they’d left their regular clothes and changed quickly. Nao tugged on one of his favorite Gundam t-shirts and jeans, while Tora shrugged on a black shirt and dark jeans. Saga’s clothes were missing, so Shou and Hiroto were the only ones who hadn’t changed. At the thought of Alice Nine’s youngest member, Tora got an idea. He’d scared Shou and Nao already… maybe he could get Pon too.
“I’m going to go talk to our manager. I’ll meet you back here once I’m done.” Nao tugged Tora down for a quick kiss before leaving the room.
“All right.” Tora left the room and went in search of his latest victim. Hiroto wasn’t that hard to find. The younger guitarist stood in front of a vending machine with Shou at his side.
“It stole my change,” Hiroto said, pouting at it. “And I wanted a candy bar.”
Shou ruffled his hair. “I’ll get you some candy from the store on the way home.”
“Thanks, Shou.”
“I’ll see if this one’s working. I’m really thirsty.” Shou took out some yen and went over to another vending machine. Hiroto stayed at the first one, trying to get his change back from the machine. He was the perfect unsuspecting target. Tora stealthily approached Hiroto then abruptly seized his waist and growled, “Gotcha” in the same eerie voice he’d used on Nao.
Hiroto squealed and struggled to escape his grip, flailing in his arms. “Shou!”
Shou immediately turned around, scowling at Tora. “Tora! Would you stop trying to scare all of us?”
“It was an accident with you,” Tora said, letting Hiroto go.
The younger immediately rushed over to Shou, hugging his waist and scowling at Tora. “Brat,” he huffed.
Tora smirked. “You were too easy.”
“Attacking your poor, innocent band mate at the vending machine? Bad tiger,” Hiroto grumbled, not loosening his grip on Shou.
“I was curious to see if you’d scare as easily as Shou or Nao,” Tora said, snickering.
“Did you scare poor Pon now?” Nao asked, rounding the corner.
“Yes.” Hiroto finally unglued himself from Shou, still looking pouty.
Nao sighed. “I figured you were plotting on scaring either Saga or Pon when I didn’t find you in the changing room.”
“What about me?” Saga joined them too, looking curious.
“You’re next on Tora’s list,” Hiroto warned.
Saga blinked. “Of what?”
“People to scare,” Shou explained.
Tora smiled his best creepy smile at Saga, who looked unfazed. “Well, you three are wimps.” He started laughing. “Remember when we had that horror movie marathon? Shou screamed like a girl, Pon hid in his lap, and Nao was cowering behind Tora.”
Tora chuckled. “I remember.” He and Saga had had too much fun scaring their friends that night.
Nao shuddered. “Don’t remind me. Let’s go home though, I’m hungry!”
“What do you want?” Tora asked, fishing his keys out of his pocket. He waved at the other three before walking away with Nao.
“Um, I’m not sure.” They collected their PV outfits from the changing room and went out to Tora’s car, Nao mumbling to himself about what he might want to eat. Tora looked amused as he listened to his lover’s rambling and got in the car, draping their PV clothes over the backseat and waiting until Nao had buckled himself in before driving away.
Nao continued debating what he wanted to eat. “I could have ramen or I could get a hamburger since they’re really good. Or I could have something else.”
“Have you made up your mind?” Tora asked, turning his contacted eyes on him.
Nao jumped a little. “Will you please take out those contacts when we get home? They’re creepy! And I know you’re going to keep scaring me at home unless you take them out.”
Tora feigned an innocent smile. “I would never.”
Nao pouted again. “I don’t believe you.”
The taller man patted his head. “You’ll just have to trust me.”

Tora behaved himself for a couple hours, helping Nao decide what to eat and assisting him in the cooking process - luring Nao into a false sense of security. It’d started raining about twenty minutes ago and judging by the dark clouds, there’d be a thunderstorm later. It’d be easy to scare Nao in it since thunder always made him jumpy.
The guitarist couldn’t resist startling Nao again, who at that moment was rummaging in their closet for one of his Gundam shirts he hadn’t worn in ages. Tora slipped into their bedroom and snuck up on Nao, debating what approach to use. Grab him like with Hiroto? Tap him on the shoulder? Talk to him? Tora smirked as he got a better idea. Tora sprang forward and tackled Nao, who squeaked in surprise which turned into a yelp as he saw Tora’s white eyes.
“TORA!” Nao shrieked, squirming beneath him. “I told you to quit scaring me like that!”
“Like what?” Tora kept Nao pinned down and stole a kiss. “I didn’t scare you exactly like this before.”
Nao struggled some more. “Just quit scaring me! It’s mean.” He gave up on getting out from under the stronger man and settled for pouting up at him instead.
“And ignoring me for a Gundam marathon isn’t?”
Nao blushed. “T-That’s different!”
Tora smirked. “How so?”
“Gundams aren’t scary!”
“And I am?”
“Today you are,” Nao grumbled.
Tora chuckled as he rolled off of the drummer, getting up and helping Nao to his feet. “You look so cute when you’re startled that I can’t resist.”
Nao squeaked as a loud clap of thunder sounded, jumping forward and clutching Tora’s shirt tightly.
“It’s just thunder.” Tora patted Nao’s head, amused at the other’s reaction to the storm.
“Oh.” Nao pulled back, blushing as he fiddled with his hair. “It startled me.”
“I noticed.”
The drummer smiled sheepishly and went back to his closet. “Tora-shi! I found it!” He beamed as he held up his lost Gundam shirt then put it somewhere he could find it again, turning to him with a mock stern face. “Now, no more jumping at me to scare me! How would you like it if I scared you?”
Tora raised an eyebrow. “I’d like to see you try.” The only time Nao was somewhat scary was when he was out of coffee.
Nao pouted. “I could scare you!”
“There’s nothing remotely frightening about you.”
Unable to come up with a good response, Nao just pouted more. Tora knew his lover would use his own tricks against him and try to scare him too, but he was a lot harder to scare than Nao was.

Tora crept into the kitchen, watching as Nao opened the over then closed it again, grumbling about how his food wasn’t ready. Tora had continued his fun little game of startling his lover, enjoying himself and his eerie contacts a little too much for Nao’s liking. The drummer had even tried to scare Tora a few times, but with disastrous results. Nao was too cute to be creepy, and he was the perfect unsuspecting target right now.
Tora crept closer, seizing Nao’s shoulders and playfully biting his neck. Nao shrieked in surprise and jumped several inches, whipping around and scowling up at his lover. “Tora! If you don’t stop scaring me I’ll make you sleep on the couch tonight!”
That threat worked. “Fine, I won’t ambush you anymore.”
“Good! Now, why don’t we watch a nice movie together after we eat dinner?” Nao suggested, giving Tora a hug and leaning his head against the guitarist’s shoulder.
“I can do that.”
So after dinner was ready and they’d eaten, the two made their way over to the couch. Tora turned on the TV and flipped through channels, wondering if anything was on that was good. If not, both of them had a pretty good collection of movies.
“Oh! My favorite horror movie starts in five minutes,” Tora said, grinning as he found it.
“Horror movie?” Nao didn’t look too pleased. He sometimes got scared of horror movies, all depending on what it was. He’d never seen the one Tora wanted to watch though so he looked very wary.
“I’ll watch whatever you want after it,” Tora offered.
“Okay, let’s watch it then.” Nao sat down on the couch next to him. Tora draped an arm around the drummer’s waist and pressed him closer, holding back a victorious smirk. He hadn’t seen this movie in awhile but he still remembered how the leading villain had eyes almost identical to the contacts he had in now. And with the storm still going on outside, the situation was irresistible.
Tora soon realized that this was one of the movies that scared Nao since fifteen minutes into the movie, Nao had dived into Tora’s lap and hadn’t budged, clutching his neck tightly. He squeaked and buried his face in the guitarist’s shoulder as the villain jumped out of nowhere on the screen, eerie eyes gleaming in the dim room in the movie. “It’s just a movie, Nao,” Tora said, patting the drummer’s shoulder.
Nao straightened up. “I know, but it startled me!” he pouted as he turned back to the screen, only to squeak again a few minutes later as another scary event happened. Tora kept watching the movie, completely unfazed. Horror movies didn’t bother him and he enjoyed watching them with Nao since more often than not, the older man would glue himself to Tora out of fear and be all warm and snuggly. Perfect ulterior motive for watching a scary movie.
Tora lazily turned up the volume as he wrapped an arm around Nao’s waist. “Is this too scary for you?”
Nao bit his lip. “No, I’ll watch it.”
“You sure? If you don’t want to we can quit,” Tora offered. As fun as it was to scare Nao like this, he didn’t want him to have a hard time sleeping later. A little bit of fear was fun, but Tora didn’t want to traumatize his lover.
“No, it’s okay. It’s your favorite movie so we’ll keep watching,” Nao said, sitting up again so he could look at the screen. They went back to watching the movie, and Nao shrieked and leapt off Tora’s lap as the power cut out abruptly after a deafening clap of thunder along with a lightning flash. “TORA!” Nao yelled, jumping back.
Tora blinked. “What?”
“Y-Your contacts are g-gleaming. It’s really c-creepy!” Nao stammered out.
“I’d take them out, but that’s hard to do without light.”
Nao fumbled in his pocket for his cell phone and pulled it out, lighting up the room with it. “Let’s find a flashlight.”
“I think there’s one in that drawer over there. I’ll see if I can find one in our room.” Tora took out his phone too and used it to navigate his way into their bedroom. After a few minutes of looking, he gave up and went back to Nao, tapping his shoulder. “I couldn’t find it.”
Nao turned around, dropping his phone with a squeak. “Oh you didn’t? I found one,” he said in a high, squeaky voice.
Tora raised an eyebrow. “What’s wrong?”
“Your eyes scared me again. It reminded me of that movie,” Nao mumbled.
“I’ll go take them out. Give me the flashlight.” Nao did, following him into the bathroom where Tora took out the contacts and put on his glasses instead. “Better?”
“Much,” Nao beamed, hugging him tightly. “You don’t look so scary anymore.” He pouted again, playfully smacking Tora on the chest. “You were a mean tiger, Tora! Scaring me all the time. And because of that, you have to watch two hours of Gundam with me when the power gets back!” He attempted an evil laugh, which sounded much too cute to be even remotely classified as evil.
Tora made a face. “Fine.” He hoped the power would be out for awhile then.
Unfortunately for him, when Nao tried the power a couple minutes later, the lights flicked on right away. A smug Nao brought him into the living room and put it in a Gundam DVD, perching in Tora’s lap so he couldn’t escape and proceeding to bore Tora out of his mind for the next two hours, getting the perfect revenge on Tora in the end.
