X-Men

So I saw X-Men 3 on Friday and I'm still not sure how I feel about it.
SPOILERS

So I am a purist no matter what the idea is I tend to think that the original is the best. For example, as much as I love the Harry Potter movies I'm still mad at them for the sheer amount of information that they leave out.

But this movie just looked at the comic books then changed EVERYTHING. Now by everything I mean characterization, ideas and story lines. But they left the characters and their powers somewhat in tact.

First of all they killed Professor X, Jean and Scott. Poor Scott didn't even make it 20 minutes. Jean went totally evil and wasn't BARELY redeemed at the end. Oh my god it sucked. Then they killed Professor X why was that really necessary? How did it really further the plot except that Storm became a leader. Storm was already a leader so how did it help anything.

But what pissed me off more than anything is what they did to Rogue. I love Rogue she was always my favorite X-Man. Don't get me wrong her power sucks but they let her get rid of it. I can't even describe how disappointed I was.

Finally the end battle. They brought in 3 X-Men that we have hardly ever seen before in the movies and made them the focal point of everything. They have how many people in that school? Only six of them could be bothered to help save the world? Why is that exactly? Anyway I thought the fight scenes were good but they didn't show enough mutant powers. Then there was everyone loosing their powers and who they inherently are. I've decided I didn't really like the movie at all.

Anyone have comments?
