What I should be doing this evening:
1) Packing up Passover dishes and unpacking the regular ones
2) Packing my hospital bag

What I am doing:
Crashing in front of the TV.

I am so tired and crampy that I just have no energy to stand up and do this stuff.

I've just made my second batch of laundry soap. The last batch lasted 7 months and I made this one with the remaining ingredients -- how's that for economical? :)

I just cleaned the tub with borax and liquid castille soap (Dr Bronner's almond). It only took a little scrubbing with the floor scrubby brush and rinsed off nicely to give me a white tub ( Read more... )

This morning I dug up a large clump of daylilies so that the weigela could breathe and because they were really getting out of hand. This gave me somewhere to put my new rudbeckia, a major plus. It took a 30 gallon trash can to hold all the daylilies that came out!

I absolutely adore being able to feed whoever walks through my door. Yes, I am an introvert, but I like it when people drop in (in moderation). This morning while I was doing dishes I kept smelling gin. I really enjoy a nice gin & tonic at the end of the day, but I was disturbed that I could smell it at 10 am and it smelled good. Really good.

I just figured it out. Trader Joe's dish soap in Mandarin Orange scent smells like gin.

As of 7:30 pm our house is free of uninvited avian wildlife. It took D, H, and I a few minutes to corral the bird into a good spot, then D & H got on top of the chest freezer in order to reach the rafter. The bird was caught in a bath towel and released back into the yard where it flew away into the darkness ( Read more... )
