some Irish music

Most St Pat's Days I spend a lot of time listening to Irish music - The Chieftains, Tommy Fleming, Mary Black.

Sometimes I post a link to one of my faves.

But this year, something a little different. I found this album years ago by accident (I read a review when it was first released, something I would never normally do, and went out and bought it immediately). It's become one of my "go to" cd's and would definitely be on my 'desert island discs' list.

I defy any B/J fan not to get a shiver when they hear "I have the hands of a sinner and the face of a priest". Or "he's innocent and young from a family of means". Or "I love what I destroy and destroy the things I love".

If ever I write a B/J vampire fic (which I almost certainly will not because the fandom is already awash in them) it will be because of Mary Coughlan's version of this song. (It's way sexier than any other I've heard, just for a start. Love that sax.)
