"I dreamed the world, with my eyes open.
But time moved on and then, new worlds begin again.
Oh my heart, in this universe so vast.
No moment was made to last, so light the fire in me..."

Everyone is born with two ways of seeing: with science and with wonder.
Science is correct. But wonder is right.

Please imagine the following text is a picture book for children, lushly illustrated, full of whimsy. This is the first bit; I hope to write more.
(If for no other reason than when I hear one niece being taught about 'Haram' and another about 1940s Christian values I want to throw a fit and start ranting about philosophy, fallacy, religion, and all the cool and fekked-up old gods people believed in at various times - just to try to point out... well to try to point out a lot of things, but I was gonna tell a story, not write an essay...)
Comment, critique or suggestion for the further adventures of small meekle godlings greatly appreciated. Also if you know anyone who has more time and talent than I so would like to illustrate this, do give them my email =P
In the beginning - the very beginning, there was a lot of space, and a load of Stuff squished up very small.
Why? Because there was.
But anyone will tell you, the more you squish something down, the more it wants to spring free... There was a BANG and then -
WOOSH!
All the squashed up bits leapt outwards and danced about. They danced their way together and they danced alone and as they danced off all the wooshyness fizzing inside they changed, becoming whatever they wanted to become.
This is not the story of all the different things the Stuff exploded into. This is the story of two particular bits of Stuff - named Kee and Cher. No one named them, they just felt in themselves that was who and what they were. (And in case you were wondering, Kee’s name is said just the same as the clever poky thing that opens a locked door, and Cher’s name rhymes with fur. Both of which are very appropriate because Kee loves unlocking secrets and Cher is quite often furry.)
Kee and Cher were brimful of ideas and excitement about what they would become and do (or do and become, they weren’t fussed.) And for a while they just gadded and giddied about, getting more and more excited.
Swoosh fizz bang wallop zoom!
Finally they were both a little breathless, so they decided they needed a place to rest.
Kee made a place that had the biggest sky ever so she could lie upon it like a bed. Cher made a place with the lushest ground ever so he might curl upon it. Then they made a third place, a place not quite so big or quite so lush but that pleased them both none the less.
After they slept, they realized their worlds were very empty.
“This will not do!” said Cher.
“Boring!” said Kee.
And so they both set about fashioning things that amused them. Kee made mountains and shiny rocks. Cher made fields and dells. Kee made flowers, Cher made trees. Eventually, both godlings were worn out again and decided to have a rest and a cup of tea. As they drank their tea, they admired one another’s work.
“Pretty!” said Kee.
“Lovely!” said Cher.
But, they’d left the tap running, and as a consequence there was a lot more water about than there had been previously.
“Oooooh!” said Kee and Cher.
“Quick!” said Kee, feeling better after the tea. “We’ve made places, and there's lots of unexpected sog - there was tea and icecream and sandcastles - what now?”
“Things!” said Cher.
“THINGS!” agreed Kee happily.
They started out with earth, fire, air, water, life, shadow, and magic. They threw different combinations of these together like an artist given red yellow and blue, light and dark, and determined to discover every colour in the spectrum.
Cher made a wriggly thing. Kee threw one of them in the air and it became a flappy thing.
Kee made a wobbly thing. Cher threw it in the wet and made a swooshy thing.
Occasionally they threw bits away and those bits mixed together and made something quite unplanned and interesting. ('Eeee!' 'Wassssat?' 'OOOOH!')
On and on they went until at last they were tired. They didn't know how long they'd been inventing because they hadn't quite invented time yet so it was very hard to keep count. But there seemed to be quite a lot of interesting Floof, Oddness and New Stuff that hadn't been around before, and the two godlings were very tired. Pleased and worn out, they curled up together and slept, quite sure that tomorrow would be even more interesting if for no other reason than they hadn't got to it yet and so it was a bit like a present they hadn't opened...
