"I walk a lonely road

Apr 13, 2005 13:46

The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
and I'm the only one and I walk alone

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone..."

I like this song. It's moody, upbeat in its bleakness; it kicks arse and yet leaves one unsatisfied, never reaching the final crescendo that would allow one's neurons to stop playing it.

*Looks at lj askance. Looks at people she used to know. Skritches and bites her tongue lest she start to laugh.*

Sometimes I think my taste in people must be severely off. But once again the universe proves it has a wicked sense of humour.
And an evil uppercut that will land you on your arse every time. Is it very wrong that I'm wishing past things will be mentioned? Ah, leave it alone witch.

Everyone in the bookshop is very chatty this morning. Odd, but not unwelcome.

I have finally re-solved the riddle that is Pagemaker and so produced and printed proper book-format copies of Sog the Lonely Outer God and That's Not My Shoggoth. Haven't made up any more shoggoth cards yet though, and I know I owe a few people sets.

Could anyone be kind enough to give me a lift richmond ways from the beehive tomorrow night?

"I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line
Of the edge and where I walk alone

Read between the lines
What's fucked up and everything's alright
Check my vital signs
To know I'm still alive and I walk alone

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone..."
